THE ANI~EXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SANTA
ANA, DESIG~IATING AN APPROPRIATE NAME OF "gRVRt~'DEEI~_~
~ W. ANN FOR SAID TERRITORY, AND
GIVING NOTICE OF PROTEST HEARING THEREON
WHEREAS, at the request of property owners in the territory
herein described, a description and a map of said territory were
presented to the Santa Ana Planning Con~ission, and said Commission
approved the Annexation of said territory, and said description and
map were presented to the Boundary Commission of Orange County,
California, and said Boundary Commission caused to be prepared a
report finding the proposed boundaries to be reasonably definite
and certain.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Aha hereby initiates proceedings for Annexation
of said territory herein described, to the City of Santa Ana for
the following reasons:
1.) That said territory is presently in need of municipal
services, particularly access to an adequate sewerage
system, and in the City of Santa Ana said territory
could be connected into the Santa Ana sewerage trunks
and mains without paying any cost for said lines.
2.) That the area can best be served by the City of Santa
Ana with municipal services of the nighest quality
anywhere obtainable.
3.) That it is to the mutual advantage of the land owners
and the City of Santa Ana that said territory become
a part of said City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby declares
its intention to annex all of the territory hereinbelow described
under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act
of 1939, and hereby finds and declares that said territory is unin-
habited within the meaning of California Government Code Section

35303 on the date of the adoption of this Resolution; that said
territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana, lies in the County
of Orange, State of California, and is described as:
Commencing at the intersection of the center lines of
Seventeenth Street and Wright Street as shown on a Record
of Survey Map filed in Book 8, Page 24, Records of Surveys,
in the office of the County Recorder of Orange County,
California, and running thence North 00~ 02' East along
said center line of Wright Street 180.00 feet to an angle
point in the City boundary of the City of Santa Ana,
California, and to the true point of beginning; thence
continuing North 00° 02' East along said center line of
Wright Street and along said City boundary a distance of
348.00 feet; thence North 89° 53' East departing from said
City boundary a distance of 830.63 feet; thence South
00° 02' East a distance of 525.66 feet to said center line
of Seventeenth Street and to said City boundary; thence
South 89° 43' 30" West along said center line of Seventeenth
Street and along said City boundary a distance of 323.24
feet to an angle point in said City boundary; thence North
00° 02' East along said City boundary 180.00 feet to an
angle point in said City boundary; thence South ~9° 43' 30"
West along said City boundary a distance of 50~.00 feet to
the true point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That "Seventeenth and Mabury N. W.
Annex~' is hereby designated as an appropriate name by which said
territory shall be known for the purpose of this annexation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That notice is hereby given that
January 3, 1961, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers,
City Hall, 3rd and Main Streets, Santa Ana, California, is the time
and place fixed at which said Council will hear protests against this
annexation made by any person owning property within said territory.
At any time before said hour any owner of property within said
territory may file written protest against this proposed annexation.
Such protest shall state the name of the owner of the property affected
and the description and area of the property in general terms, all
as provided for in Section 35312 of the Goverrm~ent Code of the State
of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana
at its regular meeting held on the 21st day of November, 1960.
