THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SANTA
ANA, DESIGNATING AN APPROPRIATE NAME OF "DEODAR AND
SEVENTEENTH N. W. AN~X" FOR SAID TERRITORY, AND
GIVING NOTICE OF PROTEST HEARING THEREON
WHEREAS, at the request of property owners in the territory
herein described, the description and map of said territory were
presented to the Santa Aha Planning Commission and the Orange County
Boundary Commission, and said Planning Commission approved annexation
of said territory and said Boundary Commission prepared a report
finding the proposed boundaries to be reasonably definite and certain.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby initiates proceedings for annexation of said
territory herein described to the City of Santa Ana for the following
reasons:
1.) That said territory is presently in need of municipal
services, particularly access to an adequate sewerage
system, and in the City of Santa Ana said territory
could be connected into the Santa Ana sewerage trunk
lines without paying any cost for said lines.
2.) That the area can best be served by the City of Santa
Ana with municipal services of the highest quality
anywhere obtainable at a lower cost than elsewhere
obtainable.
3.) That it is to the mutual advantage of the land owners
and the City of Santa Ana that said territory become
a part of said City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: '~hat the City Council hereby declares
its intention to annex all of the territory hereinbelow described
under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act
of 1939, and hereby finds and declares that said territory is unin-
habited within the meaning of California Government Code Section

35303 on the date of the adoption of this Resolution; that said
territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana, lies in the County
of Orange, State of California, and is described as:
Beginning at the point of intersection of a line parallel
with and 25.00 feet North, measured at right angles, frc~a
the center line of Seventeenth S~reet, with the North extension
of the East line of the West half of Lot Number 5 of the
Felipe Yorba Tract as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book
4, ~age 206, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County,
California, said point of beginning being an angle point in
the city boundary of the City of Santa Aha, California; and
running thence West along said parallel line and along said
Santa Ana City boundary 152.00 feet more or less to its inter-
section with the Southerly extension of a line which is
parallel with and 10.00 feet East, measured at right angles,
from the West line of Lot 4, in Tract Number 1031, as shown
on a map thereof recorded in Book 33, Page 43, Miscellaneous
Maps, Records of Orange County, California; thence North,
departing from said Santa Ana City boundary, along said line
parallel with the West line of said Lot 4, and its extension
100.00 feet; thence East parallel with the North line of said
Lot 4 a distance of 17S.71 feet to the East line of said
Lot 4; thence South along a straight line parallel with the
center line of Deodar Street as shown on said Map of Tract
Nuafoer 1031 and along its South extension 176.78 feet more or
less to its intersection with a line parallel with and 52.00
feet South, measured at right angles, from said center line of
Seventeenth Street; and to said City boundary of the City of
Santa Ana; thence West along said city boundary 26.00 feet
more or less to an angle point in said city boundary and to
said East line of the West half of Lot 5 of the Felipe Yorba
Tract; thence North along said East line of the West half of
Lot 5 and its extension, and along said city boundary 77.00
feet to the point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHE~ RESOLVED: That "Deodar and Seventeenth N. W.
Annex" is hereby designated as an appropriate name by which said
territory shall be known for the purpose of this annexation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That notice is hereby given that
February 6, 1961, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chanubers,
City Hal!, Third and ~ain Streets, Santa Ana, California, is the time
and place fixed at which said Council will hear protests against this
annexation made by any person owning property within said territory.
At any time before said hour any owner of property within said terri-
tory may file written protest against this proposed annexation. Such
protest shall state the name of the owner of the property affected

and the description and area of the property in general terms, all
as provided for in Section 35312 of the Government code of the State
of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 19th day of December, 1960.
