RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANT~ ANA REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF
OB~.NGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL
HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOP-
MENT OF FAIRVIEW STREET.
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha desires to improve Fairview Street
frc~ Fifth Street to Seventeenth Street. and
WHEREAS, Fairview Street is an important artery in the County of
Orange and of general County interest, and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the
Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend
funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for
aid to any City in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within
a City, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action,
provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the
Fiscal Year 1961-62 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within
the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange
County Arterial Highway Financing Program.
NOW THEHEFORE, ~E IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of
Santa Ana hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Orange to allocat~ to said City from County Funds the amount of $~45,000.00,
said amount to be~matched by funds from said City, to be used to aid
said City in the improvement of Fairview Street from Fifth Street to
Seventeenth Street; said improvement to be in accordance with the
attached project statement;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Hoard of Supervisors of the County
of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work on Fairview Street,
in the manner provided, is in the general County interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Rgsolution, the City of
Santa Ana agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways
Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of
improvements will be available for the fiscal year 1961-62.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Santa Ana at its
regular meeting held on the 19th day of December 1960 .
