i~ESOLUTION OF ~ COUNCIL OF T~ CITT OF SANTA ANA
itEQUESTING ',~a/~ COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN
,~.s.: ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM TH~ DEVELOPMENT
OF FA~¥I~ S~T
M~.~EAS~ The City of Santa Ama desires to improve Fairview Street from Talbert
Avenue (new) to Segerstrom Avenue~ and
WEE~EAS~ Fairview Street is an important artery in the County of 0range and
of general County interest~ and
Ws~HEAS~ Article 2 and Article 3~ Chapter 9~ Division 2 of the Streets and
Highways Code authorizes a County: if it so desires~ to expend funds apportioned to it
out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement~
construction or repair of a street within a City~ and
~KEAS~ the Board of Supe~-,isors intends to~ by appropriate action~ provide
in the County budget of the Special Road Improvwm-ut Fund for the Fiscal Year 196'1-62
a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the
County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program.
NOW TH~EFORE, ~E IT ltESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Aha hereby
requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City
from County Funds the ~mnunt of $30, G00.00~ said amount to be matched by funds from
said City~ to be used to aid said City in the improvement of Faix-~iew Street from
Talbert Avenue (new) to Segerstrom Avenue~ and for the acquisition of necessary rights
of way; said improvements and acquisition of rights of way to be in accordance with
the attached project stat~w~nt;
~E IT FURT~ I~.SOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is
hereby requested to find that said work and acquisition of rights of way on Fai~-view
Street~ in the msnner provided~ is in the general County interest.
~ IT ~'u/f~HE~ RESOLVED that~ by this Resolution~ the City of Santa Aua ag,rees with
the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways Financing Program; and further agrees
that its share of the cost of improvements and rights of way will be available for
the fiscal year 1961-62.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Santa Aha at its regular meeting
held on the 19th day of December 1960.
