OF SANTA ANA APPOINTING THE ORANGE COUNTY HEALTH
DEPARTMENT TO ENFORCE CERTAIN ORDINANCES, RULES,
AND REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
WHEREAS, the Orange County Health Department has heretofore been
designated by this City Council as the Health Department for the City
of Santa Aha; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana does not maintain any municipal
health department; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has heretofore adopted ordinance
numbered NS-793, and rules and regulations pursuant thereto which
impose restrictions equal to or greater than those imposed by Part 1.5
of Division XIII of the Health and Safety Code of the State of Cali-
fornia, said or dinance adding to the Santa Aha Municipal Code
Article VIII; and
WHEREAS, the provisions of Article VIII of the Santa Ana
Municipal Code are to be enforced by the City Health Department so far
as it pertains to the maintenance, sanitation, ventilation, use, or
occupancy of apartment houses, hotels, or dwellings, and all rules
and regulations promulgated thereunder and pertaining thereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Orange County Health
Department be and is hereby designated and charged with the enforcement
of the provisions of Article VIII of the Santa Ana Municipal Code and
of any rules and regulations promulgated thereunder and pertaining
thereto, insofar as said Article VIII and said rules and regulations
pertain, for reasons of public health, to the maintenance, sanitation,
ventilation, use, or occupancy of apartment houses, hotels, or
dwellings within the City of Santa Aha; and the City of Santa Ana
hereby retains the right to enforce, through its Department of Building
Safety and Housing, Fire Department, and other departments and agencies,
all other aspects of its Article VIII of the Santa Ana Municipal Code
and rules and regulations promulgated thereunder and pertaining thereto.

at its regular meeting held on the 20t~ day of June, 1966.
