AN EASEMENT FOR STREET PURPOSES FOR THE EXTENSION
OF FAIRVIEW STREET SOUTHERLY TO WAKEHAM AVENUE
WHEREAS, Fairview Street is proposed to be a major artery to
accommodate the north-south flow of traffic within the City of
Santa Aha and a connecting link between the Garden Grove Freeway and
the proposed San Diego Freeway;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby finds and declares that the public interest
and necessity require that Fairview Street be extended southerly
from Talbert Avenue to Wakeham Avenue and the South City Limits to
accommodate the north-south flow of traffic within the City, and
further require that said City do have, take and acquire, for street
purposes, the real property in the City of Santa Aha, County of
Orange, State of California, described as:
An easement for street purposes over a strip of land 30.00 feet
wide in the land allotted to James McFadden, as described in the
Final Decree of Partition of the Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana,
which was entered September 12, 1868 in Book "B", page 410 of
Judgments of the District Court of the 17th Judicial District in
and for the County of Los Angeles, California, the Easterly line
thereof being described as follows:
Commencing at the point of intersection of the Southerly prolongation
of the Easterly line of the land described in the Deed to Anton
H. Segerstrom and Nellie Ruth Segerstrom, et al., recorded
September 14, 1960 in Book 5415, page 234 of Official Records, with
a line that is parallel with and distant Southerly 59.00 feet,
measured at right angles, from the Southerly line of said land
of Segerstrom; thence South 88° 47' 15" West along said parallel
line 10.50 feet; thence South 0° 52' 19" East to a point in a line
that is parallel with and distant Northerly 219.00 feet from the
center line of Wakeham Avenue, 60.00 feet wide and the Westerly
prolongation thereof; thence South 6° 34' 57" East 220.09 feet to
a point in said center line of Wakeham Avenue, said point being
distant Easterly 11.41 feet from the point of intersection of
said center line with the center line of Fairview Road 60.00 feet
wide.
EXCEPTING THEREFROM that portion previously dedicated for street
purposes.
ALSO EXCEPTING THEREFROM the Northerly 691.00 feet.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
1. That the City Attorney ks hereby ordered to bring an action
in the name of the City of Santa Ana to condemn said property
necessary to be taken and to do all things necessary to prosecute
said action to final determination;
2. That the public interest, necessity and convenience require,
and it is hereby ordered, that said City take immediate possession and
use of the property herein ordered to be acquired upon compliance with
the requirements of law applicable thereto as a right of way for public
use;
3. That said public improvement is planned and located in a
manner which will be most compatible with the greatest public good and
the least private injury;

4. That the City of Santa Ana, a municipal corporation, is
authorized and empowered to provide for the opening, extension,
widening, construction and maintenance of public streets and highways
within the City;
5. That said action in condemnation shall be taken in accordance
with the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure and the Constitution
of the State of California relating to eminent dc~ain.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 2nd day of May, 1966.
