TO VACATE SURPLUS RIGHT OF WAY ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF
FAIRHAVEN AVENUE, EAST OF GLASSELL STREET, AND GIVING
NOTICE OF HEARING THEREON
WHEREAS, a request for the abandonment of a two-foot strip
of land at the southeast corner of Fairhaven Avenue and Glassell
Street has been received by the Director of Public Works and the
Public Works Department, the Planning Department, and the Planning
Commission have recommended approval of said abandonment to
facilitate future property development and consistent street
alignment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby approves the map attached hereto and orders
the same filed with the original of this Resolution in the office of
the Clerk of the Council and reference is hereby made to said map
for the exterior boundaries of said right of way proposed to be
vacated.
The City Council hereby declares its intention to proceed
under the provisions of the Street Vacation Act of 1941 (~8300 throu~
§8374 of the California Streets and Highways Code) to vacate that
two-foot strip of surplus right of way on the south side of Fairhaven
Avenue, east of Glassell Street, in the City of Santa Aha, County of
Orange, State of California, described as:
That portion of Lot 4, Block A of the Chapman Tract, as surveyed
by Frank Lecouvreur in 1870 as shown on a map recorded in Book 102,
page 15, of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County,
California, described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the Southerly line of Fairhaven
Avenue (60 feet wide) as described in a deed to the County of
Orange recorded in Book 341, page 331 of Deeds, with the Easterly
line of Glassell Street (80 feet wide) as described in an order of
condemnation deed to the State of California recorded in Book 785,
page 382 of Deeds, records of Orange County; thence Easterly
along said Southerly line a distance of 193.76 feet; thence
Southerly at right angles to said Southerly line to a point in a
line parallel with and distance 10.00 feet Southerly (measured
at right angles) from said Southerly line, said point being the
TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING; thence continuing along said right
angle line 2.00 feet to a line parallel with and distance 12.00
feet Southerly of said Southerly line; thence Westerly along last
mentioned parallel line a distance of 149.55 feet, more or less,
to the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the Southeast and
having a radius of 25.00 feet; thence along said curve through a
central angle of 102° 41' 44" an arc distance of 44.81 feet to a
point of tangency with a line parallel with and distance Easterly
10.00 feet (measured at right angles) from said Easterly line of
Glassell Street (80 feet wide); thence northerly along last
mentioned parallel line 2.05 feet, more or less, to the beginning
of a tangent curve concave to the Southeast and having a radius
of 25.00 feet; thence along said curve through a central angle of
102° 41' 44" an arc distance of 44.81 feet to a point of tangency
with a line parallel with and distance Southerly 10.00 feet
(measured at right angles) from said Southerly line of Fairhaven
Avenue (60 feet wide); thence Easterly along last mentioned
parallel line 150.00 feet, more or less, to the TRUE POINT OF
BEGINNING.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That July 5, 1966, at the hour of
7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Third and Main Streets,
Santa Ana, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place for
hearing all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed
street vacation.

The Clerk of the Council is hereby ordered to publish this
Resolution once in the Register, and the Director of Public Works
is ordered to post notices of said street vacation conspicuously
along the line of said street stating the passage of this Resolution
of intention to vacate and the time and place of hearing thereon.
Said notices shall be posted not more than 300 feet apart and at
least three (3) such notices shall be posted. Both publication and
posting shall be completed at least ten (10) days before the date of
hearing.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 6t~ day of June, 1966.
