BUILDING ASSOCIATION AND AUTHORIZING ~XECUTION
OF A QUITCLAIM DEED TO THE ELKS BUILDING
ASSOCIATION TO CARRY INTO EFFECT TERMS OF AN
AGREEMENT E~TERED INTO BETWEEN THE CITY AND
THE ELKS CLUB OF SANTA ANA
WHEREAS, ELKS BUILDING ASSOCIATION OF SANTA ANA, a corporation,
has executed a deed dated May 10, 1966, conveying to the City an
easement for street purposes on the north side of Chestnut Street from
Lyon Street to Elk Lane, for no cash consideration; and a deed dated
May 10, 1966, conveying to the City certain real property on the
south side of First Street from Lyon Street to Elk Lane, in consider-
ation of the sum of $7,000.00, which property the City has agreed
to lease back to the ELKS BUILDING ASSOCIATION OF SANTA ANA; and the
city has agreed to quitcla/m certain excess right of way on the east
side of Lyon Street from First Street to Chestnut Street; and
WHEREAS, said transactions are all to be handled in Escrow
NO. 51505-C with Security Title Insurance Company, Santa Ana,
California.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED= That the Mayor is hereby
authorized to sign the escrow instructions; that the City of Santa
Aha accepts said deeds and Carl J. Thornton, the City's designated
agent, is directed to place his certificate of acceptance on said
deeds.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Mayor and the Clerk of the
Council are hereby authorized and directed to execute a deed quit-
claiming to the ELKS BUILDING ASSOCIATION OF SANTA ANA, a corporation,
the City's interest in~d to the following described real property
in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California:
That portion of Block A of the Stafford and Tustin Tract as shown
on a map thereof recorded in Book 2, at pages 618 and 619 of
Miscellaneous Records of LOS Angeles County, described as follows:
A strip of land bounded Westerly by a line parallel with and
30 feet East measured at right angles, from the monumented center
line of Lyon Street; bounded Easterly by the West line of said
Block A; bounded Northerly by the arc of a curve concave South-
easterly, having a radius of 25 feet, said curve being t&ngent to
said West boundary, and also being tangent to a line which is
parallel with and 71 feet South, measured at right angles, from the
center line of First Street; said strip of land being bounded
Southerly by the arc of a curve concave Northeasterly, having a
radius of 25 feet, said curve being tangent to said West boundary
and also being tangent to a line which is parallel with and 42 feet
Northerly, measured at right angles, from the following described
new center line of Chestnut Avenue:
Beginning at a point on the center line of Main Street as shown on
said Stafford and Tustin Tract, said point being 329.12 feet East
of the intersection of said center line of Main Street with said
monumented center line of LyOn Street and running Northwesterly
along the arc of a curve con, ave Northeasterly having a radius of
500.00 feet, and tangent to said center line of Main Street an
arc distance of 347.54 feet through a central angle of 39° 49' 30"
to a point of reverse curvature; thence Northwesterly along the
arc of a curve concave Southwesterly having a radius of 500.00 feet
through a central angle of 39° 46' 00" an arc distance of 347.03
feet to a tangent line, said tangent line being parallel with and
10 feet South of the survey center line of Chestnut Avenue as
established by Resolution No. 55-30 of the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana on February 7, 1955,
and deliver the same to said grantee.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED= That the Mayor is hereby authorized
and directed to execute the Lease herein referred to for and on
behalf of the City of Santa Ana.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 6th day of June, 1966.
