HomeMy WebLinkAbout67-005RESOLUTION NO. 67-5 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO ENCOURAGE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A COLLEGE OF MEDICINE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA-IRVINE WHEREAS, the President of the University of california recently revealed to the Orange County Board of Supervisors the possibility of the relocation of the University of California, california College of Medicine, to Orange County; and WHEREAS, such a transfer of the now existing California College of Medicine at Los Angeles, to an Orange County site is a distinct possibility; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Aha believes that the establishment of the University of california, California College of Medicine in Orange County would greatly benefit the entire County and would provide a convenient situs for medical studies and other health sciences, together with enriching the academic aspects of Orange County; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Santa Ana does hereby unanimously encourage and support the tentative proposal to establish the California college of Medicine at the University of California - Irvine Campus, Orange County.
