PROPERTY FOR THE WIDENING OF SEVENTEENTH STREET
FROM BROADWAY TO SANTIAGO STREET
WHEREAS, in order to provide for a more orderly flow of
traffic on Seventeenth Street in the City of Santa Aha it has
become necessary to widen and improve said street from Broadway
east to Santiago Street;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana does hereby find and declare that the public interest
and necessity require that Seventeenth Street be widened and
improved from Broadway east to Santiago Street to provide for a more
orderly flow of east-west traffic, and further require that said
City do have, take, and acquire for street purposes that certain
real property in the City of Santa Aha, County of Orange, State of
California, described as:
PARCEL 1: Ail that certain land situated in the State of California,
County of Orange, City of SantaAna, described as follows:
The West 73 feet of Lots 1 and 4 in Block A of "Warner's
Subdivision of Blocks C and F, Dresser Tract", as shown
on a map recorded in Book 30, Page 37, of Miscellaneous
Records of Los Angeles County, California, and on a cor-
rected map recorded in Book 1, Page 97, of Miscellaneous
Maps, Records of Orange County, California.
PARCEL 2:
An easement for street purposes over that portion of
Block "A" of the Dresser Tract, as shown on a Map recorded
in Book 12, Page 83, of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles
County, California, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the Northeasterly line
at the Southern Pacific Railroad right of way and a line
parallel with and distant 44.00 feet southerly, measured
at right angles, from the northerly line of said Block "A";
thence along said Northeasterly line of the Southern
Pacific Right of Way, South 26~ 39' 40" East, 8.95 feet to
a line parallel with and distant 52.00 feet southerly,
measured at right angles, from said northerly line of
Block "A"; thence along said last mentioned parallel line,
South 89° 49' 52" East, 58.88 feet to a point on a tangent
curve concave southwesterly, having a radius of 25.00 feet;
thence southeasterly along said last mentioned curve through
a central angle of 46° 50' 06", an arc length of 20.44 feet,
to a point of cusp with a curve concave northeasterly,
having a radius of 3,505.00 feet, the radial to said curve
at said point bears South 47° 00' 14" West; thence north-
westerly along said last mentioned curve through a central
angle of 0° 18' 25", an arc distance of 18.78 feet, to a
point on a non tangent line, the radial to said curve at
said point bears South 47° 18' 39" West; thence North
45° 45' 00" West, 3.09 feet to a line parallel with and
distant 44.00 feet Southerly, measured at right angles,
from said northerly line of Block "A"; thence along said
last mentioned parallel line, North 89° 49' 52" West,
66.12 feet to the point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
1. That the City Attorney is hereby ordered to bring an action
in the name of the City of Santa Ana to condemn said property necessary
to be taken and to do all things necessary to prosecute said action
to final determination;

2. That the public interest, necessity, and convenience
require, and it is hereby ordered, that said City take immediate
possession and use of the property herein ordered to be acquired
upon compliance with the requirements of law applicable thereto
as a right of way for public use;
3. That said public improvement is planned and located in
a manner which will be most compatible with the greatest public
good and the least provate injury;
4. That the City of Santa Aha, a municipal corporation, is
authorized and empowered to provide for the opening, extension,
widening, construction and maintenance of public streets and high-
ways within the City; and
5. That said action in condemnation shall be taken in
accordance with the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure and
the Constitution of the State of California relating to eminent
domain.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 20th day of February, 1967.
