HomeMy WebLinkAbout67-027RESOLUTION 67-27 AUTHORIZING CHANNELIZATION OF BRISTOL STREET IN THEVICINITYOFWILSHIRE AVENUE AND PROHIBITING PARKING IN SAID AREA WHEREAS, Bristol Street is one of the major north-south arteries in the City of Santa Ana and carries an increasing volume of traffic; and WHEREAS, considerable delay and hazard are created wherever a vehicle has to wait in a traffic lane for an opportunity to make a left turn; and WHEREAS, nine accidents of types expected to be reduced by channelizing for left turns were reported during 1966 at the inter- section of Bristol Street and Wilshire Avenue, and WHEREAS, parking has already been eliminated at the west curb of Bristol Street, north of Wilshire Avenue. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Bristol Street be channelized for left turns into Wilshire Avenue and that parking at the curbs of Bristol Street be forbidden as necessary to provide left turn lanes and two lanes of through traffic in each direction. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 20th day of February, 1967.
