ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA,
DESIGNATING AN APPROPRIATE NAME FOR SAID TERRITORY
OF "DYER AND GRAND NORTHWEST ANNEX", AND GIVING
NOTICE OF PROTEST HEARING THEREON
WHEREAS, heretofore, the Local Agency Formation Commission
of Orange County approved the map and description of the territory
hereinbelow contained and the annexation of said territory to the
City of Santa Aha, California; and the Planning Commission of the
City of Santa Ana has approved said annexation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana hereby initiates proceedings for annexation
of said territory to the City of Santa Aha for the following reasons:
That said territory is in part owned by the City and
the City wishes to incorporate it within its limits
in order to use it for municipal purposes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana hereby declares its intention to annex all of the territory
hereinbelow described under the provisions of the Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939; hereby finds and declares that
said territory is uninhabited within the meaning of the Government
Code Section 35303 on the date of the adoption of this Resolution;
and that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana, lies
in the County of Orange, State of California, and is described as:
Beginning at an angle point in the City boundary of the City
of Santa Ana as annexed by the "Irvine's Subdivision Annex No. 1 -
Revised" Ordinance NS-696, said angle point being the south-
easterly line of Newport Avenue, as conveyed to the County of
Orange by deed recorded February 17, 1914 in Book 250, page 73
of Deeds, said point being located North 40° 39' 12" East
336.48 feet measured along said southeasterly line from the
intersection of said southeasterly line with the easterly
extension of the center line of Dyer Road; thence North
40° 39' 12" East parallel with and 30 feet southeasterly,
measured at right angles from the center line of Newport Avenue
and along said boundary of the City of Santa Ana a distance of
1,031.86 feet; thence departing from said boundary of the City
of Santa Ana North 88° 36' 10" West, 562.95 feet to the Westerly
terminus of that certain course which bears "North 88° 36' 10"
West, 155.90 feet" in that certain parcel of land described in
a deed to the State of California, recorded June 10, 1963 in
Book 6580, page 695 of Official Records of Orange County,
California; thence North 43° 36' 06" West, 35.36 feet to a line
parallel with and distant Easterly 30.00 feet, measured at
right angles, from a line which bears South 1° 23' 50" West,
from the northwest corner of Section 29, Township 5 South,
Range 9 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, in the Rancho
Santiago de Santa Ana; thence North 88° 36' 10" West, 60.00
feet; thence South 1° 23' 50" West 50.00 feet to a tangent curve
concave Westerly having a radius of 970.00 feet; thence along
said curve through a central angle of 26° 48' 16", an arc length
of 453.79 feet to a point on a non-tangent line, said point
being the Northeast corner of that certain parcel of land
described in deed to the city of Santa Ana, recorded February 28,
1967 in Book 8186, page 165 of Official Records of Orange County,

California; thence West, 379.30 feet to a point in the West
line of the property described as Parcel 1 in the deed from
J. S. Ellis to Sarah E. Ellis, recorded January 29, 1937 in
Book 873, page 6 of Official Records of said County; thence
South 0° 26' 50" West 330.00 feet along said West line to a
point in the North line of that certain parcel of land des-
cribed in deed recorded October 17, 1912 in Book 221, page 334
of Deeds, in the office of the County Recorder of said County;
thence South 89° 05' 55" East, 134.77 feet along last mentioned
North line to an angle point in said City boundary of the City
of Santa Aha as annexed by the "Irvine's Subdivision Annex
No. 1 - Revised" by Ordinance No. NS-696; thence South
88" 15' 18" East along said boundary of the City of Santa Ana
350 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That "DYER AND GP~AND NORTHWEST ANNEX"
is hereby designated as an appropriate name by which said territory
shall be known for the purpose of this annexation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That notice is hereby given that
July 3, 1967, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers,
City Hall, Third and Main Streets, Santa Ana, California, is the
time and place fixed at which said Council will hear written protests
against this annexation made by any person owning property within
said territory. At any time prior to the final adjournment of the
hearing on protests, any owner of property within the territory may
file written protest against this annexation. The protest shall
state the name of the owner of the property affected and the street
address or other description of the property sufficient to identify
it on the last equalized assessment roll, all as provided for in
California Government Code Section 35312.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 15th day of May, 1967.
