PROPERTY BETWEEN THE CITY OF SANTA ANAAND THE
SANTA ANA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THE
PURPOSE OF STREET WIDENING
WHEREAS, the SANTA ANA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT OF ORANGE
COUNTY has executed a deed dated May 15, 1967, conveying to the
City of Santa Ana certain real property on the south side of Eighth
Street, east of Artesia Street, which property has a cash value of
$6,740.00, in exchange for which the City will convey to said Santa
Ana Unified School District other real property on the south side
of Eighth Street, east of Artesia Street, which property has a cash
value of $10,935.00; and
WHEREAS, the SANTA ANA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT OF ORANGE
COUNTY has agreed to pay to the City the amount of $4,195.00 for
the difference in equity of the properties being exchanged hereby;
and
WHEREAS, said transaction is to be handled through Escrow
Number 873673-hrb with First American Title Insurance and Trust
Company, Santa Ana, California;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City of Santa Aha
accepts said deed from the Santa Aha Unified School District of
Orange County granting to the City the following described property:
Ail that certain land situated in the State of California, County
of Orange, City of Santa Ana, described as follows:
Parcel No. 1: The Northerly 15.00 feet of the following:
Beginning at the intersection of the South line of Hickey Street
(Eighth Street) and the East line of Artesia Street in the City
of Santa Ana, thence South along the East line of Artesia Street
281.75 feet to the North line of Seventh Street; thence East along
the North line of Seventh Street, 443.18 feet to the intersection
of said North line with the West line of Western Avenue; thence
North along said West line of Western Avenue 281.75 feet to the
intersection of said West line with the South line of Hickey Street
(Eighth Street); thence West along the South line of Hickey Street
440.55 Feet to the point of beginning.
EXCEPTING the Easterly 140.55 feet.
Parcel No. 2: A spandrel shaped parcel of land bounded Northerly
by the Southerly line of Parcel 1, bounded Westerly by the
Southerly prolongation of the West line of Parcel 1, bounded
Southeasterly by the arc of a curve concave southeasterly, having
a radius of 25.00 feet and tangent to said Northerly and Westerly
boundaries.
and Carl J. Thornton, the City's designated agent, is directed to
place his Certificate of Acceptance on said deed;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Mayor and the Clerk of the
Council are hereby authorized and directed to execute a deed for and
on behalf of the City of Santa Ana granting to the SANTA ANA UNIFIED
SCHOOL DISTRICT OF OR3~NGE COUNTY that certain real property in the
City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, described
as:
That portion of the Northwest quarter of the Northwest quarter of
the Southeast quarter of Section 11, Township 5 South, Range 10
West, described as follows:

Beginning at a point in the South line of Eighth Street, distant
thereon 140.55 feet Westerly from the intersection of the South
line of Eighth Street and the West line of Western Avenue, as
shown on a map~f ~Chandler's Addition to Santa Ar~ recorded in
Book 4, Page 37, of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County,
California; thence Southerly parallel with the center line of
Artesia Street 93.75 feet; thence Easterly parallel with the
center line of Eighth Street, 141.54 feet to the West line of
Western Avenue; thence northerly, along said West line of Western
Avenue, 93.75 feet to the South line of Eighth Street; thence
Westerly 140.55 feet to the point of beginning.
EXCEPTING the Northerly 15.00 feet.
ALSO EXCEPTING a spandrel shaped parcel of land bounded Easterly
by said West line of Western Avenue, bounded Northerly by the North
line of the property above described, bounded Southwesterly by the
arc of a curve concave Southwesterly having a radius of 25.00 feet
and tangent to said Easterly and Northerly boundaries.
and deliver the same into Escrow No. 873673-hrb.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 19th day of June, 1967.
