RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DECLARING THE
RESULTS OF THE CANVASS OF ELECTION
RETURNS BY THE CLERK OF THE SPECIAL
BOND ELECTION HELD OCTOBER 10, 1967
WHEREAS, the City Council by Ordinance No.
NS-892 called a special bond election to be held in the
City of Santa Ana on October 10, 1967; and
WHEREAS, the bond proposition voted upon at said
special bond election was as follows, to wit:
BOND PROPOSITION:
To adopt a Program for Progress by taking
urgent, critical, preventive measures for the
protection of health, safety, general welfame
and property of the citizens by repairing,
constructing and enlarging the city's network
of sewers and storm drains, for improving and
increasing fire protection and supervision in
critical areas, for effecting greater economies
in administrative efficiency for buildings,
improvements and services, for the purpose of
repairing and improving city streets, sidewalks
and thoroughfares as a means of providing in-
creased safety and convenience for pedestrians
and vehicular traffic, including repair, replace-
ment, relocation and widening of streets in areas
throughout the city, to install new and repair or
replace older street lighting and related facili-
ties as needed or required, to develop and expand
more neighborhood parks and recreational services,
improvement of existing park sites and the install-
ing of needed or required services, buildings and
essential equipment and all lands and facilities
necessary for the foregoing purples which
constitute a city plan as approved by the Planning
Commission and the City Council, shall the city
incur a bonded indebtedness in the principal
amount of Twenty-Five Million Dollars ($25,000,000)?
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 22932.5 of the Elections
Code of the State of California, the canvass was ordered to be
made by the Clerk of the Council of the City of Santa Ana in
Resolution No. NS-892; and
WHEREAS, the Clerk of the Council has certified
the results of the canvass to this City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana, California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND
ORDER as follows:
Section 1. The statement of the result of the
election is set forth on the attached Exhibit A of the
canvass of the returns of the special bond election and
the absentee votes cast thereat as determined by the
canvass of the City Clerk.
Section 2. That said proposition failed to
receive the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the electors
voting on said proposition and said bond proposition is
hereby declared to have failed.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
City of Santa Aha at its adjourned regular meeting held on
the 19th day of October, 1967, for the purpose of canvassing
the returns of said election.
