FOR CANCELLATION OF TAXES ON PROPERTIES ACQUIRED BY
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
WHEREAS, City taxes and assessments are collected by officers
of the County of Orange on behalf of the City; and
WHEREAS, it has been the custom of the County of Orange to
obtain the consent of the City Attorney prior to cancelling any
taxes pursuant to Revenue and Taxation Code Section 4986; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature has amended said statute to provide
that the consent of the City to tax cancellations as required therein
may be dispensed with by appropriate resolution by the City Council
filed with the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the appropriate officers
of the County of Orange are hereby authorized to cancel taxes and
assessments of this City pursuant to Section 4986 of the Revenue and
Taxation Code of the State of California and to do so without consent
of the City Attorney or other officer of the City of Santa Ana until
further order of this Council.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Clerk ofthe Council is
hereby directed to file a copy of this Resolution with the Board of
Supervisors of the County of Orange.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 6th day of November, 1967.
