HomeMy WebLinkAbout67-211~ESOLUTION 67-211 AUTHORIZING THE EXCHANGE OF PROPERTIES BETWEEN THE CITY AND W. W. AND MARGARET B. HARDING ON THE NORTH SIDE OF FIRST STREET, WEST OF BAKER STREET, WITH CASH CONSIDERATION DUE TO THE CITY WHEREAS, W. W. HARDING and MARGARET B. HARDING have executed a deed dated October 18, 1967, conveying to the City of Santa Ana an easement for street widening on the north side of First Street, west of Baker Street, with a cash value of $7,375.00, in exchange for which the City will convey to said W. W. HARDING and MARGARET Bo HARDING other real property which has been declared surplus on the north side of First Street and the west side of Baker Street, which property has a cash value of $12,375.00, the sale of which was authorized by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana on November 20, 1967; and WHEREAS, W. W. HARDING and MARGARET B. HARDING have agreed to pay to the City the difference in equity of the interest in real properties being exchanged hereby in the amount of $5,000; and WHEREAS, said transaction is to be handled through Escrow Number 55281-C with Security Title Insurance Company, Santa Ana, California. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City of Santa Ana accepts said deed from W. W. Harding and Margaret B. Harding granting to the City the following described property: Ail that certain land situated in the State of California, County of Orange, City of Santa Ana, described as follows: An easement for street purposes over the Southerly 40 feet of the Easterly 50 feet of Lot 3 in Block "A" of the Bessonett Tract, as shown on a Map recorded in Book 24, page 73 of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California. and Carl J. Thornton, the City's designated agent, is directed to place his Certificate of Acceptance on said deed: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Mayor and the Clerk of the Council are hereby authorized and directed to execute a deed for and on behalf of the City of Santa Ana granting to W. W. HARDING and MARGARET B. HARDING that certain real property in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, described as: Lot 1 in Block A of the Bessonett Tract, as shown on a Map recorded in Book 24, page 73 of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California, EXCEPTING therefrom the Southerly 40.00 feet ALSO EXCEPTING therefrom a spandrel shaped parcel of land bounded on the South by the North line of the Southerly 40.00 feet of said Lot 1, bounded on the East by the East line of said Lot 1 and bounded Northwesterly by the arc of a curve concave Northwesterly having a radius of 25.00 feet and tanget to said South and East boundaries. and deliver the same into Escrow No. 55281-C. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 4th day of December, 1967.
