PARCEL OF REAL PROPERTY SOUTH OF FIFTH STREET,
BETWEEN PARTONAND VAN NESS STREETS, FOR CIVIC
CENTER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, by reason of the rapid growth in population of
Orange County and of the City of Santa Aha, California in particular,
there exists an immediate and present need to acquire land for the
expansion and development of that area known as the Civic Center for
the erection of public buildings, structures, and related utilities
and facilities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana does hereby find and declare that public interest
and necessity require the acquisition of fee title in and to certain
real property south of Fifth Street, between Parton and Van Ness
Streets, in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of
California, more particularly described as follows:
Lot 2, Block D, of Ross Addition to Santa Ana, in the City of
Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, as per map
thereof recorded in Book 3, Pages 534 and 535, Miscellaneous
Records of Los Angeles County, California.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
1. That the City Attorney is hereby ordered to bring an
action in the name of the City to condemn said property necessary
to be taken and to do all things necessary to prosecute said action
to final determination;
2. That said public improvement is planned and located in a
manner which will be most compatible with the greatest public good
and the least private injury;
3. That the City of Santa Ana is authorized, empowered, and
required to provide for public buildings and public grounds;
4. That said action in condemnation shall be taken in
accordance with the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure and
the Constitution of the State of California relating to eminent
domain.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 5th day of February-, 19~68.~
