OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY FROM THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA FOR THE PURPOSE OF PERMITTING
THE SAME TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF
ORANGE UNDER THE NAME OF "PROPOSED ANNEX-
ATION TO THE CITY OF ORANGE NO. 244"
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana has
received and filed a request that This Body adopt a resolution
consenting to detachment of certain territory, the description of
which has been filed with the Orange County Local Agency Formation
Commission as "PROPOSED A!~NEX~TION TO THE CITY OF ORANGE NO. 244";
and
WHEREAS, negotiations between the two cities and owners of
property in said territory have resulted in agreement by all parties.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby consents to the detachment from the City
of Santa Ana, for the purpose of allowing annexation to the City
of Orange, that certain real property in the City of Santa Ana,
County of Orange, State of California, described as :
Beginning at a point on the north line of Lot 14 in Block
D of the A. B. Chapman tract, as surveyed by Frank Lecouvreur
in December 1870 and shown on a map thereof recorded in
Book 102, page 15, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange
County, California, said point being 30.00 feet westerly
from the northeast corner of said Lot 14, said point being
on the existing boundary of the City of Santa Ana as
established by the Fairhaven and Cambridge Northwest Annex,
Ordinance NS-588, said point being on the existing boundary
of the City of Orange, as established by Annexation Number
152, Ordinance Number 12-61; thence South 88° 58' 30" East
along said city boundary of the City of Santa Ana as annexed
by Ordinance NS-588 to the northwest corner of the Fairhaven
and C~mbridge Southeast Annex, Ordinance NS-576, to the City
of Santa Ana, a distance of 60.00 feet; thence continuing
South 88° 58' 30" East along said boundary of the City of
Santa Ana, and along said city boundary of the City of Orange
as annexed by Annexation Number 152, a distance of 665.10
feet, more or less, to a point of intersection with the
northerly right of way line of the Garden Grove Freeway;
thence departing from said city boundary of the City of
Orange, Ordinance Number 12-61, and running South 84° 29' 01"
West along said northerly right of way line of the Garden
Grove Freeway, a distance of 44.03 feet, more or less; thence
continuing along said northerly right of way line of the
Garden Grove Freeway the following courses and distances;
North 89° 00' 02" West, 175.10 feet; thence South 0° 59' 58"
West, 20.00 feet, thence South 84° 29' 01" West, 24.17 feet;
thence South 81° 09' 20" West, a distance of 443.08 feet to
a point on the easterly line of Cambridge Street, said point
being 40.00 feet easterly, measured at right angles, from the
center line of Cambridge Street; thence South 60a 48' 50"
West, a distance of 80.92 feet, to a point on a line that is
parallel with and distant westerly, 30.00 feet, measured at
right angles, from the center line of Cambridge Street; thence
North 89° 04' 19" West at right angles to the center line of
Cambridge Street, a distance of 10.00 feet; thence continuing
along said northerly right of way line of the Garden Grove
Freeway the following courses and distances; thence South
73° 13' 24" West, 634.64 feet; thence South 78° 39' 08" West,
16.19 feet; thence South 71° 12' 51" West, 272.18 feet;
thence South 81° 17' 43" West, 287.81 feet; thence North
89° 57' 16" West a distance of 126.03 feet, more or less, to
a point on the westerly line of the easterly 5.50 feet of
Lot 13 in Block D of said A. B. Chapman tract, and to the
west boundary of the City of Santa Ana as established by said
Ordinance NS-588; thence departing from said northerly right
of way line of the Garden Grove Freeway, North 0° 58' 00"
East along said boundary of the City of Santa Ana, a distance
of 484.74 feet to the northwest corner of said Fairhaven and
Cambridge Northwest Annex; thence South 88° 58' 30" East
along said boundary of the City of Santa Ana, a distance of
1296.08 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 5th day of February,
1968.
