TERRITORY DESIGNATED "SANTA CLAi{A AVENUE AND
NEWPORT F9F. RWAY WEST ANNEX" TO THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange
County has approved a description of territory hereinbelow dontained
and annexation of said territory to the City of Santa Ana, California;
and
WHER/EAS, in accordance with the requirements of Government
Code Section 54797.1, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange
County has approved and authorized the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana, California, to annex said territory without notice and
hearing by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana, California, hereby finds and declares that said
territory was uninhabited at the time of the adoption of this
Resolution, and is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana; that all of
the statements hereinabove are true and correct; and that said
territory shall not be taxed to pay any indebtedness of the City
existing at the time of this annexation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That all of the territory in the
County of Orange, State of California, described as:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of the Tustin and Seventeenth
N.E. Annex to the City of Santa Ana, California, as established
by Ordinance NS-468, said point being an angle point in the
existing boundary of the City of Tustin, California, as estab-
lished by Ordinance 145, said point being the Northeast corner
of Lot 12, Tract 4749, as shown on a map thereof recorded in
Book 167, Pages 43 and 44, Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange
County, California; thence running South 89" 47' 00" West along
the North line of said Tustin and Seventeenth N. E. Annex and along
said City of Tustin boundary and along the North line of said
Lot 12 in Tract 4749, a distance of 32.35 feet to the Southeast
corner of the Santa Clara and Deodar S. Annex to the City of
Santa Ana as established by Ordinance NS-606 and to the Southeast
corner of Lot 15, Tract 4811, as shown on a map thereof recorded
in Book 172, Pages 20 and 21, Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange
County,California, and to an angle point in said City of Tustin
boundary; thence running North 0" 53' 22" East along the East line
of said Santa Clara and Deodar S. Annex, and along said City of
Tustin boundary, and along the East line of said Tract 4811 a
distance of 569.91 feet to the Southeast corner of the Santa Clara
and Tustin N. E. Annex to the City of Santa Ana as established by
Ordinance NS-682; thence continuing North 0~ 53' 22" East along the
East line of said Santa Clara and Tustin N. E. Annex and along said
City of Tustin boundary a distance of 750.30 feet to the Southeast
corner of the North half of Lot 5, in Block B, of the A. B. Chapman
Tract, as surveyed by Frank LeCouvreur in December 1870 and shown
on a map thereof recorded in Book 102, Page 15, Miscellaneous Maps,
records of said Orange County, and to an angle point in the Santa
Clara and Tustin N. W. Annex to the city of Santa Ana as established
by Ordinance NS-759; thence continuing North 0° 53' 22" East along
the East line of said Santa Clara and Tustin N. W. Annex and along
said City of Tustin boundary, a distance of 660.00 feet, more or
less, to the Northwest corner of Lot 6, in Block B, of said
A. B. Chapman Tract, said corner being the Southeast corner of
Lot 16, Tract 2989, as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 89,
Page 1, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of said Orange County; thence
departing said City of Santa Ana and City of Tustin boundaries and
running South 88° 54' 09" East along the North line of said Lot 6,

a distance of 29.40 feet to a point on a line that is parallel with
and distant Westerly, measured at right angles, 107.00 feet from
the center line of the Newport Freeway, said parallel line being
the Westerly right of way line of said Newport Freeway; thence
South 0° 48' 14" West along said parallel line, a distance of
1980.00 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning,
be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Santa Ana and to
Ward No. 1 in said City, and said Annexation is by this Resolution
effected and declared. For the purpose of tax segregation of this
territory, the designation that applies is the "Santa Ana City - 1957
and 1958 Annexes".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That in accordance with Government
Code Section 35318 the annexed territory will become a part of the
City of Santa Ana from the date of filing by the Secretary of State.
The Clerk of the Council of the City of Santa Ana shall, without
delay, transmit to the Secretary of State a certified copy of this
Resolution.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the ~ity of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 15th day of April, 1968.
