TERRITORY DESIGNATED "ALTON AND NEWPORT EAST
ANNEX" TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange
County has approved a description of territory hereinbelow contained
and annexation of said territory to the City of Santa Ana, California;
and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the requirements of Government Code
Section 54797.1, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange
County has approved and authorized the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana, California, to annex said territory without notice and
hearing by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha;
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana, california, hereby finds and declares that said
territory was uninhabited at the time of the adoption of this
Resolution, and is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana; that all of
the statements hereinabove are true and correct; and that said
territory shall not be taxed to pay any indebtedness of the City
existing at the time of this annexation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That all of the territory in the
County of Orange, State of California, described as:
Beginning at the Westerly corner of Lot 115 of Block 9 of
Irvine's Subdivision, as shown on a map recorded in Book 1,
Page 88, of Miscellaneous Maps, in the Office of the County
Recorder of Orange County, California, said corner being an
angle point in the boundary of the City of Santa Aha as annexed by
the "Irvine's Subdivision Annex 1-Revised" by Ordinance NS-696;
thence North 40" 39' 12" East, 1,320 feet, more or less, along
the Northwest line of said Lot 115 and along said City boundary
as annexed by Ordinance NS-696 to an angle point in said City
boundary and to the Southerly corner of Lot 107 of said Block 9
of the Irvine's Subdivision; thence North 49° 20' 48" West, 1,290
feet, more or less, along said City boundary as annexed by
Ordinance NS-696 and along the Northeast line of Lot 116 of said
Block 9 of the Irvine's Subdivision to an angle point in said
City boundary and to a point on a line that is parallel with and
30 feet Southeasterly, measured at right angles, from the center
line of Newport Avenue, said center line being the Northwest line
of said Irvine's Subdivision; thence South 40° 39' 12" West,
1,190 feet, more or less, along said last mentioned parallel line
and along said City boundary as annexed by Ordinance NS-696 to an
angle point in the boundary of the City of Santa Ana as annexed
by Ordinance NS-320; thence continuing South 40" 39' 12" West,
130.88 feet along said last mentioned parallel line and along
said City boundary as annexed by Ordinance NS-320 to the Southwest
line of Lot 116 of said Block 9 of the Irvine's Subdivision;
thence departing from said City boundary South 49" 21' 05" East
1,292.49 feet, along the Southwest line of said Lot 116 to the
Westerly corner of said Lot 115 and to the point of beginning,
be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Santa Ana and to
Ward No. 6 in said City, and said Annexation is by this Resolution
effected and declared. For the purpose of tax segregation of this
territory, the designation that applies is the "Santa Aha City - 1957
and 1958 Annexes".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That in accordance with Government
Code Section 35318 the annexed territory will become a part of the

City of Santa Ana from the date of filing by the Secretary of State.
The Clerk of the Council of the City of Santa Aha shall, without
delay, transmit to the Secretary of State a certified copy of this
Resolution.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 19th day of August, 1968.
