PROPERTIES BETWEEN THE CITY AND SOUTHERN PACIFIC
COMPANY
WHEREAS, pursuant to that certain agreement dated August 30,
1963,between the City of Santa Ana and the Southern Pacific Company,
the Southern Pacific Company has delivered to the City two deeds
conveying to the City real property on First Street for the First
Street Underpass, in exchange for which the City will execute two
deeds conveying to Southern Pacific Company other real property at
said location;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City of Santa
Ana accepts said deeds from SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY conveying to
the city of Santa Ana the following described property:
Ail that certain real property situated in the City of Santa
Ana, County of Orange, State of California, described as follows:
That portion of Parcel I lying within Parcel II of the land
allotted to Dominga Vejar in Decree of Partition of the Rancho
Santiago de Santa Ana, recorded in Book "B" of Judgments of the
17th Judicial District Court of California, said Parcel I and
Parcel II being described as follows:
PARCEL I:
Beginning at a point in the North line of First Street, as the
same was established on November 22, 1889, distant Easterly
thereon 463.04 feet from the Southeast corner of Lot 1 in Block 3
of W. Z. Cook's Addition to the City of Santa Ana, as shown on a
map thereof recorded in Book 1, page 34, Miscellaneous Maps,
records of said Orange County; thence East, along said North line
of First Street, a distance of 40 feet; thence North, a distance
of 243.5 feet, more or less, to the South line of Second Street,
as said street existed on November 22, 1889; thence West, along
said South line of Second Street, a distance of 40 feet; thence
South, a distance Qf'243.5 feet to the point of beginning.
PARCEL II:
Beginning at the point of intersection of a line that is parallel
with and distant Westerly 30 feet, measured at right angles, from
the West line of Lot 14, Block "B", Bailey's Addition as per map
recorded in Book 21, page 12, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles
County, California, with a line that is parallel with and distant
Northerly 30 feet, measured at right angles, from the North line
of Lot 14, Block "B" of said Addition; thence, along said last
mentioned parallel line, North 89" 58' 38" East, a distance of
55.74 feet; thence North 0° 01' 22" West, a distance of 37 feet;
thence North 89" 58' 38" East, a distance of 44.29 feet; thence
North 0° 01' 22" West, a distance of 13.91 feet; thence North
89" 58'38" East, a distance of 79.03 feet; thence North 79" 10' 08"
East, a distance 6f 336.35 feet; thence North 88" 10' 03" East, a
distance of 190.85 feet; thence South 83" 26' 46" East, a distance
of 139.37 feet to a point in the center line of Santa Fe Street,
30 feet wide; thence, along said center line, South 0° 09' 47"
West, a distance of 104.03 feet to a point in the surveyed center
line of First Street; thence along said surveyed center line the
following bearing and distances: South 89° 59' 33" West, a distance
of 28.03 feet; thence South 89~ 58' 38" West, a distance of 405.28
feet; thence South 89° 58' 38" West, a distance of 405 feet to the
point of beginning.
Subject to an easement along that portion of the Southerly 5 feet
of said Parcel I, condemned to the use of the City of Santa Ana,
by Final Order of Condemnation recorded June 24, 1930, in Book 393

Page 327 of Official Records of said Orange County.
Said portion of Parcel I contains an area of 2018 square feet,
more or less.
EXCEPTING AND RESERVING to Grantor all mineral rights therein.

Ail that certain real property situated in the City of Santa Ana,
County of Orange, State of California, described as follows:
That portion of Lots 1, 2 and 3 in Block "B" of Bailey's Addition
to the Town of Santa Aha, as shown on a map thereof recorded in
Book 21, page 12, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County,
California, described as follows:
PARCEL I:
The North 45 feet of said Lots 2 and 3, subject to an easement
along the Northerly 5 feet of said lots condemned to the use of
the City of Santa Ana, by final order in condemnation, recorded
June 24, 1930, in Book 393, page 327, Official Records of said
Orange County.
PARCEL II:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of said Lot 1; thence Southerly,
along the West line of said Lot 1 to a line that is parallel with
and distant Southerly 45 feet, measured at right angles, from
the North line of said Lot 1; thence Easterly, along said parallel
line to a point which is 18.21 feet Westerly from the East line
of said Lot 1, measured along the Easterly prolongation of said
parallel line, said last mentioned point being the beginning of a
tangent curve concave to the Southwest and having a radius of
18 feet; thence Southeasterly, along said curve, through a central
angle of 90° 40' 55", a distance of 28.49 feet to a point of cusp
in the East line of said Lot 1; thence Northerly, along said East
line to the Northeast corner of said Lot 1; thence Westerly, along
the North line of said Lot 1 to the point of beginning; subject
to an easement along the Northerly 5 feet of said Lot 1 condemned
to the use of the City of Santa Ana, by final order in condemnation,
recorded June 24, 1930, in Book 393, page 327, Official Records
of said Orange County. Reserving to Grantor all mineral rights.
The above Parcels I and II contain an area of 3446 square feet,
more or less;
which deeds are dated November 15, 1966 and November 16, 1966,
respectively; and Carl J. Thornton, the City's designated agent, is
directed to place his Certificate of Acceptance on said deeds, and
the same shall be delivered into Escrow No. 50802-K with Security
Title Insurance Company, Santa Ana, California.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Mayor and the Clerk of the
Council are hereby authorized and directed to execute grant deeds
for and on behalf of the City of Santa Ana granting to the SOUTHERN
PACIFIC COMPANY, a corporation that certain real property in the
city of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, described
as follows:
That portion of Lots 1 and 13 and that portion of that certain
14-foot alley all as shown in Block "A" of Bailey's Addition to
the town of Santa Ana, as shown on a map thereof recorded in
Book 21, Page 12, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County,
California, as described as follows:

Beginning at the intersection of the Easterly line of said
Lot 1 with a line that is parallel with and 35 feet Southerly,
measured at right angles, from the center line of First Street,
70 feet wide, and running thence along said Easterly line and
its Southerly extension and along the Easterly line of said
Lot 13, South 14° 25' 30" East, a distance of 298.19 feet, more
or less, to the Southeast corner of said Lot 13; thence along the
South line of said Lot 13, South 89° 50' 03" West, a distance of
7.52 feet, more or less, to a line which is parallel with said
Easterly line and its extension of Lot 13, said parallel line at
its point of intersection with the South line of said Lot 13 being
a distance of 296.51 feet Easterly, measured along said South
line and its extension of said Block "A", from the center line
of Minnie Street, 50 feet wide as shown on said Bailey's Addition;
thence along said last mentioned parallel line North 14" 25' 30"
West a distance of 219.79 feet to a tangent curve concave South-
westerly and having a radius of 506.07 feet; thence Northwesterly
along said curve through a central angle of 9" 10', more or less,
to its intersection with a line which is parallel with and
35 feet Southerly, measured at right angles from the center line
of First Street; thence along said last mentioned parallel line
North 89" 58' 38" East, 13 feet, more or less, to the point of
beginning;

That portion of the land conveyed to the Atchison, Topeka and
Santa Fe Railway Company by deed from the Southern California
R~ilway Company, recorded March 5, 1906, Volume 123, Deeds,
Page 352, Records of Orange County, Described as follows:

Beginning at the point of intersection of a line that is parallel

Railway Company land; thence along said Westerly line, North
0" 06' 50" East, 148.56 feet; thence South 7" 21' 30" East, 40.83
feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the Northeast
and having a radius of 506.07 feet; thence Southeasterly, along
said curve, through a central angle of 30° 02' 30", a distance of
265.35 feet; thence South 42" 21' 59" East, 173.82 feet; thence
South 88" 10' 03" West, 55.38 feet to the true point of beginning.
Grantor hereby reserves all vehicular access rights to First
Street from above described property so long as surface of street
remains depressed for grade separation purposes (five feet or more
below natural ground elevation).
and deliver the same into Escrow No. 50802-K with Security Title
Insurance Company, Santa Ana, california.
