PARCEL OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE NORTHEAST
CORNER OF MAIN AND SEVENTEENTH STREETS FOR STREET
PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana is now in the process of
widening and improving Seventeenth Street between Baker Street
and the Santa Ana Freeway and has an immediate need for right of
way over the property herein described; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana does hereby find and declare that the public
interest and necessity require the acquisition of that parcel of
real pcoperty located at the northeast corner of Seventeenth and
Main Streets for street purposes and further require that the City
to have, take, and acquire, for street purposes, the real property
in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of california,
described as:
Lot 14 in Block "B" of Wiley Addition to Santa Ana, as per
map recorded in Book 17, Page 36, Miscellaneous Records,
Los Angeles County, california.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
1. That the City Attorney is hereby ordered to bring an
action in the name of the City of Santa Ana to condemn said property
necessary to be taken and to do all things necessary to prosecute
said action to final determination;
2. That the public interest, necessity, and convenience
require, and it is hereby ordered, that said City take immediate
possession and use of the property herein ordered to be acquired,
upon compliance with the requirements of law applicable thereto,
as a right of way for public use;
3. That said public improvement is planned and located in
a manner which will be most compatible with the greatest public good
and the least priv&te injury;
4. That the City of Santa Ana, a municipal corporation, is
authorized and empowered to provide for the opening, extension,
widening, construction, and maintenance of public streets and high-
ways within the City; and
5. That said action in condemnation shall be taken in
accordance with the provisions of the Code of civil Procedure and
the Constitution of the State of California relating to eminent
domain.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 21st day of October, 1968.
