ZONING ADMINISTRATOR AND GRANTING A VARIANCE ON
VARIANCE APPLICATION VA 68-122 FILED BY CARTER
SIGN COMPANY, SUBJECT TO APPLICABLE CONDITIONS
WHEREAS, after public hearing on notice, the Zoning Administra-
tor DENIED a variance on Variance Application 68-122, filed by the
CARTER SIGN COMPANY requesting a waiver of landscaping requirements
in construction of an advertising sign which exceeds 35 feet in height
located at 3737 South Main Street, Santa Ana, California, in a C-2
District; and
WHEREAS, Appeal Application 218 was filed by the applicant,
appealing the decision of the Zoning Administrator and presenting
the matter to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, after public hearing on notice,
has determined that said Variance Application meets the requirements
of Section 9250.8 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code and that said
Variance should be granted subject to Certain conditions;
NOW, THEP~EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana does hereby overrule the decision of the Zoning
Administrator and does hereby grant a variance on Variance Application
VA 68-122, filed by CARTER SIGN COMPANY to permit the waiver of
landscaping requirements in the construction of an advertising sign
which exceeds 35 feet in height at 3737 South Main Street, Santa Ana,
California, in a C-2 District; said Variance is granted subject to
the following conditions:
That the construction of the sign be in accordance with the
approved plot plan, except for minor modifications to be
approved by the Planning Department;
That all applicable provisions of the Zoning Ordinance be
adhered to, except for the required 15-foot landscaped
strip.
