HomeMy WebLinkAbout69-026RESOLUTION 69-26 AFFIRMING THE DECISION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION AND GRANTING VARIANCE APPLICATION 68-106 FILED BY ARTHUR AXELROD AND RONALD STONE, SUBJECT TO APPLICABLE CONDITIONS W%qEREAS, after public hearing on notice, the Planning Commission granted a variance on Variance Application 68-106, filed by ARTHUR AXELROD and RONALD STONE, to permit an automobile salvage yard in conjunction with an existing automobile wrecking yard located on adjacent property, said salvage yard to be located at 1900 West Fifth Street, Santa Ana, California, in an M-1 District; and WHEREAS, Appeal Application No. 219 was filed by MRS. RAYMOND HERNANDEZ, appealing the decision of the Planning Commission and presenting the matter to the city Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council, after public hearing on notice, has determined that said Variance meets the requirements of Section 9250.8 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code and that said Variance should be granted, subject to certain conditions; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana does hereby affirm the decision of the Planning Commission and does hereby grant a Variance on Variance Application No. 68-106, filed by ARTHUR AXELROD and RON~T~ STONE to permit an automobile salvage yard in conjunction with an existing automobile wrecking yard located on adjacent property, said salvage yard to be located at 1900 West Fifth Street, Santa Ana, California, in an M-1 District; said Variance is granted subject to the following conditions: That the development be according to the approved plan, except for minor modifications to be approved by the Planning Department; That no salvage material be piled to a height exceeding that of the fence or wall surrounding the existing and proposed wrecking yard; 3. That a parcel map be filed and processed according to requirements of the Subdivision regulations; 4. That no storage of parts or vehicles be permitted in the off- street parking area or public right of way; and That all fences surrounding the subject property be no less than eight (8) feet in height and be constructed of material to be approved by the Planning Department. Said material shall be such ~hatitis capable of retaining its original characteristics with- out upkeep for a period of ten years. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 17th day of February, 1969.
