HomeMy WebLinkAbout69-067SPECIAL RESOLUTION RESOLUTION NO. 69-67 WHEREAS, in April of 1965 TOM McMICHAEL was elected to the City Council of the City of Santa Aha from Ward One, and thereafter, in April of 1967, was elected Mayor by his fellow Councilmen; and WHEREAS, the term of TOM McMICHAEL's mayoralty was character- ized by his vigorous personal effort on behalf of the City of Santa Ana; the accomplishments and goals realized during his tenure included the following: (1) Significant developments in human relations, including the Community Relations Program; (Z) Institution and continuation of negotiations leading to the construction of a State Building and a Federal Building within the Santa Aha Civic Center; (3) Establishment of Centennial Committee, Citizen-Government Advisory Committee for Traffic Safety, and Freeway Committee; (4) Acquisition and development of parks, including acquisition of site for area park on former F.C.C. property in southwest Santa Ana; (5) The involvement of various business segments, dealing with one another to meet City problems; and WHEREAS, during his exemplary and dynamic tenure, the City of Santa Aha has again surged forward in development and assessed valuation while maintaining the high level of efficiency offered its citizens by municipal employee s; IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA: That the City Council, for itself and for those whom it represents, expresses appreciation to TOM McMICHAEL for the unselfish service rendered by him to his fellows, and for the tangible and intangible results of his labors, of which there are many. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 5th day of May, 1969.
