DEED FOR THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY FOR A CASH
CONSIDERATION OF $6,643.75
WHEREAS, by action of the City Council on September 15, 1969,
certain real property located on the north side of First Street,
and the west side of Sycamore Street was declared to be surplus; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that
said property be sold to an adjacent landowner by direct negotia-
tion as provided in §2613 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code, provided
the property be held as one parcel by the purchaser, by reason of
the fact that said property has real value only to an adjacent
landowner and only nuisance value to any other persons. Said
grantees have offered to pay to the City the sum of $6,643.75;
said transaction is to be handled through Escrow No. 56651-C
opened with Security Title Insurance Company, Santa Ana, California;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Mayor is hereby
authorized to sign the escrow instructions, and the Mayor and the
Clerk of the Council are hereby authorized and directed to execute
a deed granting to WILLIAM H. SAUNDERS and CLAIRE SAUNDERS, husband
and wife, as joint tenants, all that real property in the City of
Santa Ana, County 0f?Orange, State of California, described as:
That portion of Block 4 of the Town of Santa Ana, in
the City of Santa Ana, as shown on a map recorded in
book 2, page 51 of Miscellaneous Records, in the
office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County,
California, described as follows:
Beginning at the Southeasterly corner of said Block
and running thence North along the East line thereof
50.61 feet to the center of an 8-3/4 inches brick wall;
running thence West parallel with the South line of
said Block 4 and along the center line of said wall,
115 feet; thence South parallel with the East line of
said Block 4, 50.61 feet to a point in the South line
thereof; and thence East along the South line, 115
feet to the point of beginning.
EXCEPTING the North 0.37 feet.
ALSO EXCEPTING the Southerly 40 feet.
ALSO EXCEPTING from the above that portion lying within
a spandrel shaped parcel bounded Southerly by the North
line of said Southerly 40 feet, bounded Easterly by the
East line of said Block 4, bounded Northwesterly by the
arc of a curve concave Northwesterly having a radius of
25 feet and tangent to said Southerly and Easterly
boundaries.
Grantor herein reserves all vehicular access to and
from 1st Street from the lands lying North of the South
line of the lands conveyed by this Deed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That there shall be filed concur-
rently herewith an agreement between the City and Purchaser, for
recording, setting forth restrictions.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 15th day of September, 1969.
