HomeMy WebLinkAbout70-014RESOLUTION 70-14 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA EXTENDING FRIENDLY GREETINGS TO THE CITY OF TOKYO, JAPAN WHEREAS, in recent years Tokyo, capital city of Japan, has closely allied its goals with those of the United States of America; and WHEREAS, in the mutual pursuit of such goals, the governments of our two great countries have worked together harmoniously; and WHEREAS, the United States of America looks upon Japan as the principal economic, moral, and ethical force in the Eastern world; and WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana wishes to recognize and express its appreciation for the responsibility and vitality exhibited by other municipalities around the world which are contributing to the peaceful expansion of production, trade, and goodwill; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: 1. That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, for itself and, in its representative capacity, for the citizens of the City of Santa Ana, extends its most cordial greetings to the citizens and municipal author- ities of the City of Tokyo, Japan; 2. That the City Council further expresses its sincere hope and expectation that the mutually beneficial and peaceful relationship exist- ing between our two countries will continue unabated. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha, California, at its regular meeting held on the 2nd day of March, 1970.
