HomeMy WebLinkAbout70-018RESOLUTION 70-18 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA EXTENDING FRIENDLY GREETINGS TO THE CITY OF TEL AVIV, ISRAEL WHEREAS, within the ancient lands embraced by the country of Israel there has grown up a relatively new twentieth century coastal city called Tel Aviv; and WHEREAS, near the coastline of the Pacific Ocean in Orange County, California, the nineteenth century city of Santa Ana has quietly developed, only last year celebrating its centennial; and WHEREAS, the bond of friendship which exists between Israel and the United States of America extends as well to Tel Aviv and Santa Ana, uniting in goal and principle the citizens of our respective cities; and WHEREAS, the citizens of Santa Ana wish to declare this unity which link our two municipalities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: 1. That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, for itself and, in its representative capacity, for the citizens of the City of Santa Ana, extends its most cordial greetings to the citizens and municipal author- ities of the City of Tel Aviv, Israel; 2. That the City Council further expresses its sincere hope and expectation that the mutually beneficial and peaceful relationship exist- ing between our two countries will continue unabated. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California, at its regular meeting held on the 2nd day of March, 1970.
