HomeMy WebLinkAbout70-019RE SOLUTION 70 ~ 19 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA EXTENDING FRIENDLY GREETINGS TO THE CITY OF ZURICH, SWITZERLAND WHEREAS, for generations the Republic of Switzerland has stood within western Europe as the symbol of political and fiscal sanity; and WHEREAS, the Swiss have steadfastly decried the use of military expeditions to resolve political differences, and in this regard surely shares the view of the United States of America; and WHEREAS, the responsibility of the citizens of Switzerland is admired by the citizens of the City of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Zurich, capital of the canton of Zurich, exemplify this mature attitude of restraint of which Santa Anans are grateful; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: 1. That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, for itself and, in its representative capacity, for the citizens of the City of Santa Ana, extends its most cordial greetings to the citizens and municipal authorities of the City of Zurich, Switzerland; 2. That the City Council further expresses its sincere hope and expectation that the mutually beneficial and peaceful relationship existing between our two countries will continue unabated. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California, at its regular meeting held on the 2nd day of March, 1970.
