HomeMy WebLinkAbout70-020RESOLUTION 70-20 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA EXTENDING FRIENDLY GREETINGS TO THE CITY OF ATHENS, GREECE WHEREAS, in the Balkans of Southern Europe the kingdom of Greece has stood for centuries as a jewel; and WHEREAS, the contributions of Greeks in general and of Athenians in particular have given direction and substance to human experience in many and varied ways; and WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Santa Ana wish to be counted among those who recognize and appreciate the tremendous contributions of the citizens of Athens; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; 1. That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, for itself and, in its representative capacity, for the citizens of the City of Santa Ana, extends its most cordial greetings to the citizens and municipal authorities of the City of Athens, Greece; 2. That the City Council further expresses its sincere hope and expectation that the mutually beneficial and peaceful relationship existing between our two countries will continue unabated. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California, at its regular meeting held on the 2nd day of March, 1970.
