HomeMy WebLinkAbout70-021RESOLUTION 70-21 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA EXTENDING FRIENDLY GREETINGS TO THE CITY OF OSAKA, JAPAN WHEREAS, on the southern coast of Honshu, in Japan, is the seaport of Osaka; and WHEREAS, Osaka is the site of Expo '70, an internationally significant exhibition; and WHEREAS, the citizens and officials of the City of Osaka are to be commended for the tremendous efforts which were necessarily expended to achieve such a monumental event; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Santa Ana to recognize and express its appreciation for the peaceful responsibility and vitality exhibited by other municipalities around the world; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: 1. That the City Council of the City of Santa Aha, for itself and, in its representative capacity, for the citizens of the City of Santa Ana, extends its most cordial greetings to the citizens and municipal authorities of the City of Osaka, Japan; 2. Thai the City Council further expresses its sincere hope and expectation that the mutually beneficial and peaceful relation- ship existing between our two countries will continue unabated; 3. That the City Council extends its best wishes for a success- ful and productive Expo '70. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California, at its regular meeting held on the 2nd day of March, 1970.
