INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF WILSHIRE
AVENUE WEST OF VILLAGE ~AY AND A PORTION OF
VILLAGE ~AY SOUTH OF McFADDEN AND GIVING NOTICE
OF HEARING THEREON
WHEREAS, a request for the vacation of a portion of
Wilshire Avenue west of Village Way and a portion of Village
Way south of McFadden Avenue, herein described, has been
received by the City Council, and the Department of Public
Works and the Planning Commission have recommended that a
public hearing be set on the question of said vacation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council
hereby approves the map attached hereto and orders the same filed
with the original of this Resolution in the office of the Clerk
of the Council, and reference is hereby made to said map for the
exterior boundaries of said rights of way proposed to be vacated.
The City Council declares its intention to proceed under
the provisions of'the Street Vacation Act of 1941 (Sections 8300
through 8374 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California) to vacate a portion of Wilshire Avenue west of
Village Way and a portion of Village Way south of McFadden
Avenue in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of
California, described as:
Those portions of the land allotted to F. W. Koll in
decree of partition of the Rancho de Santa Ana in the
city of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California,
included within the land shown on a map filed in Book
17 Page 34 of Parcel Maps, in the office of the County
Recorder of said County described as follows:
Parcel A
Beginning at the centerline intersection of McFadden
Avenue and Village Way as shown on said Parcel Map,
thence South 00° 24' 48" East along the centerline
of Village Way a distance of 1030.39 feet to the True
point of beginning, said True point of beginning
being in the Northerly boundary of Parcel 4, as shown
on said Parcel Map, thence along said boundary line
North 89° 35' 12" East, 30.00 feet to a point, said
point being South 89" 35' 12" West a distance of
498.54 feet from the Northeast corner of said Parcel
4; thence departing from said Northerly boundary
parallel with the centerline of Village Way, South
00~ 24' 48" East a distance of 238.58 feet to the
beginning of a curve tangent, concave Northeasterly
and having a radius of 88.00 feet; thence Southeasterly
along said curve through a central angle of 31° 13' 56"
47.97 feet to a point of reverse curve, said curve
being concave Northerly and having a radius of 50.00
feet; thence along said curve through a central angle
of 242° 27' 52", 211.59 feet, to a point of reverse
curve said curve being concave Northwesterly and
having a radius of 88.00 feet; thence Northerly along
said curve through a central angle of 31~ 13' 56",
47.97 feet to a point of tangency; thence North
00° 24' 48" West, parallel with the centerline of
Village Way, a distance of 208.31 feet to a point,
said point being the Southeasterly corner of Parcel 3,
as shown on said Parcel Map; thence continuing North
00~ 24' 48" West a distance of 30.27 feet to the
Northerly boundary of said Parcel 4; thence along
said boundary line, North 89" 35' 12" East a distance
of 30.00 feet, to the True point of beginning.
Parcel B
Beginning at the centerline intersection of McFadden
Avenue and village Way as shown on said Parcel Map;
thence departing from said point of beginning Westerly
along said centerline of McFadden Avenue South 88Q 55'
West a distance of 492.89 feet to a point; thence
South 00° 04' 33" East a distance of 40.00 feet to a
point; thence North 88Q 55' 45" East a distance of
10.00 feet to a point, said point being the North-
westerly corner of Parcel 1 as shown on said Parcel
Map; thence Southerly along the Westerly boundary of
said Parcel 1, South 00° 04' 33" East a distance of
478.75 feet to a point, said point being the South-
westerly corner of Parcel 1 and the Northwesterly corner
of Parcel 2, as shown on said Parcel Map; thence con-
tinuing South 00~ 04~ 33" East a distance of 286.24
feet to the True point of beginning, said True point of
beginning being the Northwesterly corner of Parcel 3 as
shown on said Parcel Map, and the Northwesterly terminus
of wilshire Avenue, thence along said Northerly right
of way of Wilshire Avenue, North 89° 35' 12" East a
distance of 440.59 feet to the beginning of a curve
tangent, concave Northwesterly and having a radius of
17.00 feet; thence Northeasterly along said curve
through a central angle of 90" 00' 00", 26.70 feet
to a point of tangency in the Westerly right of way
line of Village Way, thence Southerly, along said right
of way line, South 00~ 24' 48" East a distance of 94.00
feet to the beginning of a curve tangent, concave
Southwesterly and having a radius of 17.00 feet; thence
Northwesterly along said curve through a central angle
of 90~ 00, 00', 26.70 feet to a point of tangency in
the Southerly right of way line of said Wilshire Avenue;
thence along said right of way line South 89" 35' 12"
West a distance of 440.94 feet to a point, said point
being in the Westerly boundary line of Parcel 3 as
shown on said Parcel Map; thence Northerly along said
boundary North 00° 04' 33" West a distance of 60.00
feet to the True point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That April 6, 1970, at the hour
of 7:30 P.M in the Council Chambers, city Hall Annex, 500 West
Sixth Street, Santa Ana, California, is hereby fixed as the time
and place for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to
said proposed street vacation.
The Clerk of the Council is hereby ordered to publish this
Resolution once in The Register, and the Director of Public Works
is ordered to post notices of street vacation conspicuously along
the line of said street, stating the passage of this Resolution of
Intention to vacate and the time and the place of hearing thereon.
Said notices shall be posted not more than 300 feet apart and at
least three (3) such notices shall be posted. Both publication
and posting shall be completed at least ten (10) days before the
date of hearing.
