HomeMy WebLinkAbout70-049RESOLUTION 70-49 AFFIRMING THE DECISION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION AND GRANTING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT ON APPLICATION NO. 70-2 FILED BY JACK L. LIGHTFOOT, SUBJECT TO APPLICABLE CONDITIONS WHEREAS, after public hearing on notice, the Planning Commission granted a conditional use permit on Application for Conditional Use Permit No. 70-2, filed by JACK L. LIGHTFOOT, to construct and operate a riding stable with monthly horse shows in the A-1 District on the south side of Fifth Street between Newhope and Euclid Streets, Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, Appeal Application No. 232 was filed by HELEN J. PETER~ON appealing the decision of the Planning Commission to grant said conditional use permit and presenting the matter to the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council, after public hearing on notice has determined that said Application for Conditional Use Permit meets the requirements of Section 41-638 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code and that said Conditional Use Permit should be granted subject to certain applicable conditions; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the city of Santa Ana does hereby affirm the decision of the Planning Commission and does hereby grant a conditional use permit on Application for Conditional Use Permit No. 70-2, filed by JACK L. LIGHTFOOT, to construct and operate a riding stable with monthly horse shows in the A-1 District on the south side of Fifth Street between Newhope and Euclid Streets, Santa Ana; said Conditional Use Permit is granted subject to the following conditions: That a revised plot plan (to scale and fully dimensioned) be submitted to and approved by the Planning Department indicating a minimum of one parking space for each two horse stalls or a minimum of 14 spaces adequately marked and which conform to the City parking standards. That development be according to the revised plot plan, except for minor modifications approved by the Planning Department. That the access drive and parking areas be top dressed with decomposed granite, pea gravel, or other material which will inhibit dust and provide adequate drainage from these areas. 3. That the arena, at all times, be adequately top dressed with oil in order to eliminate any dust problem. 4. That stable roofs be either sloped away from corrals or guttered. That cohditional Use Permit 70-2 will apply only to the establishment of a riding and boarding stable and horse shows to occur not more than once monthly. That this conditional use permit shall become null and void one year from the date of approval unless extended by the Planning Department for one year.
