HomeMy WebLinkAbout70-079RESOLUTION 70-79 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OP THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING THE PREVAILING RATES OF WAGES TO BE PAID FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF PUBLIC WORKS AND IMPROVEMENTS IN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA UNTIL THE AMENDMENT OR REVOCATION OF THIS RESOLUTION, AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION 69-109 WHEREAS, Section 1773 of the Labor Code of the State of California requires that any body awarding any contract for public works shall ascertain the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work in the locality in which the public work is to be performed for each craft, classification, or type of workman needed to execute the contract, and further allows such public body to publish said prevailing rate in a newspaper of general circulation at least one time during each year rather than setting forth said per diem rates in each call for bids, in the bid specifications, and in the contract itself; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana does hereby ascertain and determine that the general prevailing rates of per diem wages for each craft, classi- fication, or type of workman needed to execute public works contracts and the general prevailing rate of legal holiday and overtime work for each craft or type of work are in accordance with the schedules attached hereto as "EXHIBIT A" and "EXHIBIT B" and made a part hereof as though fully set out herein, and on file in the office of the Director of Public Works of the City of Santa Ana; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That any classification omitted from said "EXHIBIT A" and "EXHIBIT B" shall be paid not less than $4.545 per hour; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That a copy of this Resolution and any amendments adopted subsequent to this Resolution shall be filed with the Director of Industrial Relations within ten (10) days of the adoption thereof; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That this Resolution shall be published at least one time each year in a newspaper of general circulation; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That Resolution 69-109 is hereby rescinded.
