AND HUMANITARIAN SERVICE THROUGH THE
COMMUNITY CHEST
WHEREAS, unemployment and inflation are causing increased
hardship in Santa Ana, so the case loads of voluntary humanitarian
organizations have expanded considerably; and
WHEREAS, the factors causing accelerated need have also
contributed to a diminishment of contributions for voluntary
service agencies when their ministries are vitally required; and
WHEREAS, the Community Chest is committed to the voluntary
approach to improving the quality of life in Santa Ana, and
underwrites high priority human services; and
WHEREAS, the health care, the guidance for youth, the
help for children and families, and the neighborhood services
supported by Community Chest are of critical importance; and
WHEREAS, a strong Community Chest program is basic to the
kind of city our citizens want, and enhances the record of Santa Ana
as a city of compassion and human concern;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana endorses the objectives of the 1970
Community Chest Crusade, and encourages the widest possible
participation and support of this investment in people through
which the whole city benefits.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 2nd day of November,
1970.
