OF TERRITORY DESIGNATED "GROVEMONT AND GRAND
SOUTHEAST ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange
County has approved a description of territory hereinbelow
contained and annexation of said territory to the City of Santa Ana,
California; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the requirements of Government
Code Section 54797.1, the Local Agency Formation Commission of
Orange County has approved the within annexation and has authorized
the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California, to annex
said territory without notice and hearing by the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana, California, hereby finds and declares that
said territory was uninhabited at the time of the adoption of this
Resolution, and is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana; that all
of the statements hereinabove are true and correct; and that said
territory shall not be taxed to pay any indebtedness of the City
existing at the time of this annexation;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That all of the territory in the
County of Orange, State of California, described as:
Beginning at a point on the East line of the Santa Clara
and Grand Northeast Annexation Number 2 to the City of
Santa Ana, California by Resolution 70-110 of the City
Council of the City of Santa Ana, California distant
428.90 feet Southerly from the Northeast corner of said
annexation, being on the East line of Grand Avenue, 80.00
feet wide, as shown on a map of the Santa Ana Grand
Avenue Tract which is recorded in Book 26 at Pages 53
and 54 of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County,
California; thence North along the East line of said
annexation a distance of 428.90 feet to said Northeast
corner, being a point on the South line of the Fairhaven
and Grand Southeast Annexation to the Ctiy of Santa Ana,
California by Ordinance NS-605 distant 80.00 feet
Easterly from the Southwest corner of said Fairhaven and
Grand Southeast Annexation, thence North 89o56'55"
East along said South line a distance of 256.06 feet to
the Southwest corner of the Fairhaven and Grand Southeast
Annexation Number 2 to the City of Santa Ana, California
by Ordinance NS 633; thence North 89o56'55'' East along
the South line of said Fairhaven and Grand Southeast
Annexation Number 2 a distance of 321.31 feet to the
Southeast corner of said Fairhaven and Grand Southeast
Annexation Number 2, being on the center line of an
unnamed street as shown on said map of the Santa Ana
Grand Avenue Tract; thence departing from said City
boundary South along said center line a distance of 428.90
feet to the Southeast corner of that certain parcel of
land described in deed recorded November 25, 1953 in
Book 2620, Page 386 of official Records, Orange County,
California; thence South 89o56'55'' West a distance of
578 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning,
be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Santa Ana and to
Ward Number 1 in said City, and said Annexation is by this Resolution
effected and declared. For the purpose of tax segregation of this
territory, the designation that applies is the "Santa Ana City -
1957-1958 Annexes."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That in accordance with Government
Code Section 35318 the annexed territory will become a part of the
City of Santa Ana from the date of filing by the Secretary of
State. The Clerk of the Council of the City of Santa Ana shall,
without delay, transmit to the Secretary of State a certified copy
of this Resolution.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 1st day of February, 1971.
