HomeMy WebLinkAbout71-008RESOLUTION 71-8 OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA COMMENDING STEPHEN CUNNINGHAM FOR AN ACT OF HEROISM WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City Council that on December 9, 1970, STEPHEN CUNNINGHAM, together with TERRY PRICE, entered a burning apartment dwelling located at 1519 North Dresser, Santa Ma, and aided in the rescue of Miss NaomiSchoeneweg; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to acknowledge acts of heroism and express appreciation therefor; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the City Council of the City of Santa Aha, individually, collectively, and in a representative capacity for the citizens of this fine City, commend STEPHEN CUNNINGHAM for his actions on December 9, 1970, to wit: making entry through a window of the burning apartment and aiding in the rescue of the occupant, thereby saving her life; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that acknowledgment and appreciation be proclaimed for this unselfish act which resulted in the saving of a life notwithstanding the apparent danger to his own. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 4th day of January 19 71 .
