HomeMy WebLinkAbout71-062RESOLUTION 71-62 OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA RECOGNIZING THE ORANGE COUNTY CRIMINAL JUSTICE COUNCIL AS THE REGIONAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING BOARD WHEREAS, the President's Crime Commission of 1967, recognized the urgent need for comprehensive criminal justice planning in the United States, and WHEREAS, the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, provided a national strategy to address the documented problems in the administration of justice, and WHEREAS, the Governor, pursuant to provisions of the Deukmejian- Moretti Act established the California Council on Criminal Justice as the State Criminal Justice l~lanning Agency to further the comprehensiveness of criminal justice planning in this State, and WHEREAS, the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets legislation has provided that forty percent (40%) of planning money must be distributed through local governments or combinations of units of local government, and WHEREAS, the California Council on Criminal Justice has established Orange County as a separate region, effective 1 July, 1971, and BE IT RESOLVED, the City of Santa Aha recognizes the Orange County Criminal Justice Council as the Orange County regional planning and coordinating body for criminal justice.
