CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING
CERTAIN OF ITS MEMBERS TO FILE WRITTEN ARGU-
MENTS REGARDING CITY MEASURES
WHEREAS, an election is to be held in the City of Santa
Ana on November 7, 1972, at which there will be submitted to the
qualified electors of said city the following city measures:
PROPOSITION A - CITY OF SANTA ANA FIRE PROTECTION
AND RESCUE FACILITIES BONDS: Shall the City of
Santa Aha incur a bonded indebtedness in the
principal amount of $2,681,000 for the purpose of
additions and improvements to the fire protection
system and rescue facilities of the City includ-
ing fire stations, additions to the fire alarm
and communications system and other fire fighting
facilities, including additional fire station
sites in various areas of the City, and including
for all the foregoing land, furniture, equipment,
facilities and all other property necessary
therefor?
PROPOSITION B - CITY OF SANTA ANA STORM DRAINS
AND SEWERS BONDS: Shall the City of Santa Ana
incur a bonded indebtedness in the principal sum
of $4,988,000 for the acquisition and construction
by said City of additions and improvements to the
storm drainage system of the City; additions,
improvements and replacements of the sanitary sewer
system of the City including trunk and connecting
sewers; and including for all of the foregoing,
land, equipment, facilities and all other property
necessary therefor?
PROPOSITION C - CITY OF SANTA ANA OPEN SPACE
LAND ACQUISITION (FOR GREENBELT, PARK AND
RECREATIONAL FACILITIES) DEVELOPMENT BONDS:
Shall the City of Santa Ana incur a bonded
indebtedness in the principal sum of $4,642,500
for the acquisition of open space and park and
recreational facilities development, including
establishment and development of neighborhood
parks, mini-parks and community recreational
facilities throughout the City including neces-
sary land and other property rights therefor
and for the foregoing, equipment, facilities
and all other property necessary therefor?
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana,
California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows:

SECTION 1. That this City Council, being the legislative
body of said city, hereby authorizes COUNCILMEN VILLA, EVANS, HERRIN,
GRISET, YAMAMOTO and PATTERSON, members of said body, to file written
arguments for PROPOSITION A; and does further authorize the CITY
COUNCIL to file written arguments for PROPOSITION B; and does further
authorize COUNCILMEN VILLA, EVANS, GRISET, YAMAMOTO and PATTERSON,
members of said body, to file written arguments for PROPOSITION C;
in accordance with Article 4, Chapter 3, Division 4 of the Elections
Code of the State of California and to change said arguments until
and including the date fixed by the Clerk of the Council after which
no arguments for or against said city measures may be submitted to
said Clerk.
SECTION 2. That this City Council, being the legislative
body of said city, hereby authorizes COUNCILMAN MARKEL of said body
to file written argument against PROPOSITION A; and does further
authorize COUNCILMAN HERRIN of said body, to file written arguments
against PROPOSITION C; in accordance with Article 4, Chapter 3,
Division 4 of the Elections Code of the State of California and to
change said arguments until and including the date fixed by the
Clerk of the Council after which no arguments for or against said
city measures may be submitted to said Clerk.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 7th day of August, 1972.
