HomeMy WebLinkAbout72-021RESOLUTION 72 - 21 AMENDING SECTION 3 OF RESOLUTION NO. 58-281 TO ADD CLASS TITLE OF CLERK WHEREAS, on November 3, 1958, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution No. 58-281, revising and re-establishing the Basic Compensation Pl~h'-fo~ ~m~lb~- ~f~he City of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, it is now desired to add a new class to the list of class titles contained in said Resolution No. 58-281, as amended, and to allocate sa%ary and wage schedules thereto. NOw, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Section 3 of Resolution No. 58-281, as amended, is hereby further amended by adding to Section 3 thereof, in proper alphabetical sequence, the following class title and salary r~ge number as n~x~ herein set oat: 'CLASS TITLE SAL~R~4~NGE1--NO. Clerk 17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: February 22 , 1972__. Sorts and files papers, bills, receipts, blueprints, and a variety of documents. Inserts and extracts material from subject matter files, classifies material by nature of subject matter, and prepares new file folders as needed. Posts data, keeps records, and prepares statistical or other types of reports in accordance with predetermined forms ~d procedures. May perform a limited amount of typing of labels, cards, and lists. Performs related duties as required. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS An employee assigned to this class performs routine clerical work following prescribed or well established procedures. Assignments may involve the use of some independent 3udgement although subject to review or verification upon completion. This work involves no supervisory responsibility over other clerical employees. MINIMUM BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Graduation from High School or attainment of satisfactory GED test scores. Some typing capability desirable. Successful completion of High School level courses in English, Math, Office Procedures, and typing may substitute for the education requirement. DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND %BILITI.ES Ability to follow oral and written instructions; knowledge of modern office practices and procedures including filing; ability to make simple computations and listings with speed and accuracy and learn .quickly the specific office operations~ ability to deal tactfully and efficiently . p ~. tine matt ers.
