The new salary schedule, attached hereto as Exhibit I, and made a part hereof as though set forth in full herein, presents ranges and steps in a substantially different format, but does not modify the compensation plan concept which provides for five (5) steps or rates of pay within each range. Further, the purpose of the step or the length of service required for advancement to the next higher step remain unchanged and are as follows: A Step - Beginning pay rate B Step - After six months in next lower step C Step - After twelve months in next lower step D Step - After twelve months in next lower step E Step - After eighteen months in next lower step Section 7 of this Resolution sets forth the regulations for salary advancements within this schedule. In the attached salary schedule (Exhibit I) each salary range is identified by a three-digit number. The first two digits are listed in the first vertical column on the left and the third digit is listed horizontally across the top and identifies the appropriate column. This three-digit range number locates "A" step of the range and steps B, C, D and E are found in the column directly below "A" step. For example, "A" step of Range No. 121 is found to be $374 by moving down the left column (Range No.) to the number 12 (the first two digits of the range no.), then horizontally to column 1 (the third digit of the range no.). The '~" step of $374 has the remaining steps shown directly below, thus the full, five-step range is 374-393-414-435-457. In the same manner, Range No. 305 is found to be 924-970-1019-1070-1123 and Range No. 290 is 859-902-947-994-1044. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That Section 3 of Resolution No. 58-281 is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 3: Allocation of Classes of Employment to Salary Ranses. Classes of employment shall be allocated to salary range numbers on the effective dates as set forth below: CLASS TITLE SALARY RANGE NUMBER 9-1-72 4-1-73 7-1-73 1-1-74 4-1-74 Account Clerk I 195
