RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CLOSING OF
WALNUT STREET BETWEEN FLOWER AND PARTON
FROM 8:00 A.M. TO 3:00 P.M. ON SCHOOL
DAYS
WHEREAS, students attending Santa Aha High School traverse
from the main body of the campus to temporary class rooms located
on the north side of Walnut Street between Flower and Parton,'
and
WHEREAS, such temporary classrooms are in use during the school
year from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and
WHEREAS, the safety of children and other persons attending
school requires that traffic on said Walnut Street be prohibited
during such school hours, and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to close such street
during school hours,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That Walnut Street between
Flower and Parton shall be closed to vehicular traffic during the
hours from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on school days and during such
times as said temporary class rooms located on the north side of
Walnut Street are in operation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Director of Public Works
authorized and empowered to cause the erection of barricades and
the posting of signs and to supervise in general the time and
manner of the closing of said street.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council finds that such
closing of Walnut Street is necessary for the protection of persons
attending said school or school grounds.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the
day of 0c%ober , 1972.
