On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and ca?ried, the
Ordinance providing for the licensing of all dogs and establishing
regulations, which was considered and passed to second reading at the
Council meeting held June 20, 1955, was tabled.
On motion of Councilman Dah], seconded by Jerome and carried, the

On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, proper
officials were authorized to sign a Cost S~rvice Contract w~th the
CaHifornia State Personnel Board for examining services during the
year 1955-56.
On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by.Jerome and Carried, the cla~
of Lulsa Ortiz, in the sum of $5,757.00, for injuries sustained in a
fall on the defective sidewalk at 2016 South Main Street, was referre~
to the Attorney and Insurance Carrier.
On motion of Councilman Helnty, seconded by Markel and carried, the
resignation of Delbert L. Larsh, as a member of the Personnel Board,
effective July 28th, 1955, was received and fi]ed. On motion of
Councilman Heinly, seconded by Markel an~ carried, the Clerk was
instructed to address a communication to Mr. Larsh thahking him for
his s~z~Ices on the Personne% Board and expressing regr:t at his
resignation.
On motion of Councilman Markel, ~econ?~d ~y J~rom~ and carried, the
recomnendation of the Chamber of Commerce for full time employment of
a qualified Traffic Engineer, was received and filed.
On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by D~al and carrieS, the
communication from the Kiwanis Club expressing ~hank~ for permitting
them to place a gum machine Im the City Hall, w~s ret=Ired and filed.
Request was read from Morgan an~ Mornlngstar,Attorneys, on behalf of
Mr. and Mrs. Warren D. Grey for approval to temporarily park a house
trailer upon a lot described as 1912 Standard Street while construotir
a home on the lot, and on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Mark~
and carried, the request was denied.

On motion of Councilmah Ds/al, seconded by Jerome and carrie~, the
communication from the President, Wilson School P.T.A. expressing
thanks and appreciation for the installation of the traffic signal at
Washington and Bristol Streets, was received and filed.
On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Da/al and carried, the
report of the Acting Director of Public Works on the payment of pump
tax in the sum of $5,352.60, to the Orange County Water District, for
the period from January 1st to June 30th, 1955, was approved and state~
ments ordered paid.
On motion of Councilman J~rome, seconded by Helnly and carried, the
report of the Park .Board on the request from business men and propert~
o~ners in .the 1300 and 1~00 blocks North Main Street for the removal
of certain trees, was received and filed.
On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, prope~
officials were authorized to execute contract dated July ~th, 195~,

with Everett E. Parks and Paul O. Davis, for architectural services
for th~ fire station building to be located on a parcel of property
100~ x 4IA~ facing the nort~h side of 17th Str=et, the east property
line being approximately 5~6~ west of the center line of Flower Stree~i.
On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Councilman Jerome
seconded by Heinly and carried, the request of Eltiste Company for an
extension of the ramp of 6~ 10" to the north to be used for an exit
for the parking lot at ~12 E. Ath Street, was granted.
On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Councilman Dahl,
seconded by Markel and ca~rle~, the request of Olson~s Furniture
Company, 109 North Broadway, for a loading zone on Sycamore Street,
was held over until Sycamore Street is establishe~ as a one-~ay street
and at that time relocate the e~Isting locking zone to the north.
On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Councilman D~I,
seconded by Jerome and carrieS, the request of Carl 0. Larson was
granted for thr~e 35 foot driveways for service station at the south-
east corner of Main and Edinger Streets.
The Council. having unanimously ~.~aived the reading of the Resolutioa,
on motion of Councilman Markel, seconded by Heinly and carried, the
following Resolution entitled:
"Resolution No. 55-200 concerning parking limitations
and curb Sarklngs in accorSance therewith"
abandoning a ~oading zone on the south side of Fifth Street between
