A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA COMMENDING COUNCILMAN RAY VILLA
WHEREAS, in April, 1969, RAYMOND (RAY) A. VILLA was elected to
the City Council as the representative of Ward 5 whereupon the
citizens of the City of Santa Ana became the beneficiaries of
COUNCILMAN VILLA'S foresight, concern for his fellow man, and
love for the City of Santa Ana, which he has so ably served;
and
WHEREAS, COUNCILMAN VILLA has played an active and integral
part in community and civic affairs in the City of Santa Ana
for more than two decades evidenced by his participation in more
than eighteen committees or organizations; and
WHEREAS, during those more than twenty years of dedication in
making Santa Ana a better place to live, he has also provided
opportunity for a vast number of citizens in the City of Santa
Ana to learn a skill and become self-sufficient; and
WHEREAS, COUNCILMAN VILLA has unselfishly devoted his life to
serving people less fortunate than himself and giving of himself
to those in need, it must be said that this man is truly a
samaritan of the first order;
NOW, THEREFORE IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED:
That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, with and for
the citizens of the City of Santa Ana, salutes and expresses to
COUNCILMAN VILLA its profound gratitude for his contributions as
a member of the City Council from April 1969 to April 1973,
during which time he played an active role in the creation and
development of the Community Relations Department, the Redeve-
lopment Agency and Commission and the Housing Authority.
The City of Santa Ana extends to Mr. Villa sincere wishes for a
future as illuminating and fulfilling as his past.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 7th
day of May , 1973.
