A P~SOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA APPROVING MAP AND DECLARING
INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF NEWHOPE
STREET APPROXIMATELY 300' EAST OF THE SANTA
ANA RIVER ON THE NORTH SIDE OF MAC ARTHUR
BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works and Planning
Commission have recommended a public hearing be set on the
question of said vacation, a request for the vacation of a
portion of Newhope Street approximately 300' east of the Santa
Aha River on the north side of Mac Arthur Boulevard, herein
described, has been received by the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council
hereby approves the map attached hereto and orders the same
filed with the original of this Resolution in the Office of the
Clerk of the Council, and reference is hereby made to said map
for the exterior boundaries for said right of way proposed to
be vacated.
The City Council declares its intention to proceed under
the provisions of the Street Vacation Act of 1941 (~ 8300-8374
of the California Streets and Highways Code) to vacate that
portion of Newhope Street approximately 300' east of the Santa
Ana River on the north side of Mac Arthur Boulevard, in the City
of Santa Aha, County of Orange, State of California, described
as follows:
That portion of Newhope Street, 40 feet wide,
in the South half of Section 28, Township 5
South, Range 10 West in the Rancho Las Bolsas
in the City of Santa Ana, as per map recorded
in Book 51, Page 12 of Miscellaneous Maps in
the Office of the County Recorder of said
Orange County and in Tract 1025 as per map
recorded in Book 33, Page 34 of Miscellaneous
Maps in the office of said County Recorder,
bounded and described as follows:
That portion of Newhope Street as shown on
said map of Tract 1025 bounded Northwesterly
by the Southeasterly line of that certain
parcel of land conveyed to the Orange County
Flood Control District by deed recorded on
December 28, 1960, in Book 5566, Page 215
of Official Records in the office of said
County Recorder, and bounded Southerly by
a line parallel with and distant 52.00 feet
Northerly, measured at right angles, from
the center line of Talbert Avenue as shown
on said map of Tract 1025.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That November ~, 1973, at the
hour of 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza,
Santa Ana, California, is hereby fixed as the hour and the place
for hearing all persons interested in or objectiDg to said proposed

street vacation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Clerk of the Council
of the City of Santa Ana is hereby ordered to publish this
Resolution one time in The Register, and the Director of Public
Works is ordered to post notices of street vacation conspicuously
along the line of said street, stating the passage of this Res-
olution of Intention to Vacate and the time and place of hearing
thereon. Said notices shall be posted not more than 300' apart
and at least three (3) such notices shall be posted. Both pub-
lication and posting shall be completed at least ten (10) days
before the date of the hearing.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 15th day of
October, 1973.
