RESOLUTION NO. 73-135
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA ORDERING THE VACATION
OF A PORTION OF THE NORTH SIDE OF CHESTNUT
AVENUE FROM A POINT APPROXIMATELY 244 FEET
TO 487 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF
GRAND AVENUE
WHEREAS, on recommendation of the Department of Public
Works and the Planning Commission of the City of Santa Ana,
the City Council of the City of Santa Ana adopted Resolution
73-126, giving notice of intention to vacate a portion of
the north side of Chestnut Avenue from a point approximately
244 feet to 487 feet west of the center line of Grand Avenue;
and
WHEREAS, Resolution 73-126 was published and notice
of intention to vacate was posted as required by law; and
WHEREAS, on December 10, 1973, a public hearing was
duly held on said vacation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council
of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds that the above named
portion of the north side of Chestnut Avenue from a point
approximately 244 feet to 487 feet west of the center line
of Grand Avenue is no longer necessary for present or pro-
spective street purposes, and does hereby make its order to
vacate said right of way. Said right of way lies in the City
of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, described
as follows:
That portion of Chestnut Avenue, as described
in a deed to the City of Santa Ana, California,
recorded March 4, 1890, in Book 4 Page 284 of
Deeds, Records of Orange County, California;
Bounded Easterly by the Westerly boundary of
the land described in a deed to Gulf Oil Corp-
oration recorded October 1, 1964 in Book 7242
Page 22 of Official Records of said County;
Bounded Westerly by the Easterly line of Parcel
3, as shown on a Map filed in Book 36 of Page
49 of Parcel Maps, in the office of the County
Recorder of said County; and Bounded Southerly
by a line parallel with and Northerly 41.00
feet from the monumental centerline of said
Chestnut Avenue, as shown on a Map filed in
Book 75 Page 15 of Record of Surveys, in the
office of the County Recorder of said County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Santa Aha at its adjourned regular meeting held on the
10th day of December , 1973.
