RESOLUTION NO. 73-138
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING THE GENERAL
PLAN TO CREATE AN "OPEN SPACE PLAN" AS
A NEW ELEMENT TO THE GENERAL PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana adopted a General Plan
for the future development of the City of Santa Ana on
February 21, 1966; and
WHEREAS, since the State of California Legislature
passed AB 966 in 1972 requiring cities and counties to
prepare and adopt an Open Space Element consistent with
State Guidelines by December 31, 1973, the Planning Depart-
ment, after considerable study and deliberation on this
matter, prepared an Open Space Plan fulfilling the require-
ments of the State Guidelines for an Open Space Element to
the City of Santa Ana's General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Ana City Planning Commission by
Resolution 6041 has adopted an amendment to the General
Plan adding thereto an Open Space Plan as an element to
the General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Ana City Council has adopted an
Environmental Impact Report for said Open Space Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Santa Ana City Council, having upon its
own motion set for public hearing the proposed amendment
to the General Plan adding the Open Space Plan as a new
element to the General Plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council
of the City of Santa Ana hereby amends the General Plan
of the City of Santa Ana by adding thereto the Open Space
Plan as a new element to the General Plan, and specifically
adopts that Open Space Plan as designated on the accompany-
ing Exhibit "A" identified as "Open Space Plan, an Element
of the General Plan".
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 19
day of November , 1973.
