A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
TO ALLOCATE ADDITIONAL FUNDS FROM ITS ARTERIAL
HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM FUND FOR THE DEVELOP
MENT OF CIVIC CENTER DRIVE FROM BIRCH STREET
TO MINTER STREET
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, by
Resolution No. 71-117, dated December 20, 1971, requested
the County of Orange to include within the Arterial Highway
Financing Program the development of Civic Center Drive
from Birch Street to Minter Street; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Supervisors by
Resolution dated March 7, 1972, approved the allocation of
$186,000 from the Special Road Improvement Fund for the fis-
cal year 1972-73 to be provided for construction and right
of way acquisition for Civic Center Drive from Birch Street
to Minter Street; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has previously budgeted
$701,400 for the construction and right of way acquisition
necessary for said Civic Center Drive; and
WHEREAS, because of increased costs the allocation of
additional funds for this project are required; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana is allocating an additional
$176,200 for the construction of the road project which will
be available for the fiscal year 1973-74.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana does hereby request the Board of Super-
visors of the County of Orange to allocate to the City of
Santa Ana from County funds the additional amount of $110,000,
said amount to be matched by funds from said City to be used
to aid said City in the improvement of Civic Center Drive from
Birch Street to Minter Street and for the acquisition of nec-
essary rights of way; said improvements and acquisition of
rights of way to be in accordance with the previously submitted
and approved project statement for the project.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the
day of April , 1974.
