A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE'CITY OF
SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING CONDEMNATION OF REAL PRO-
PERTY FOR STREET WIDENING AND IMPROVEMENT OF
FIRST STREET, AND AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 72-53
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL MAY 1, 1972.
BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana does hereby find and declare that the public interest
and necessity require that in order to widen First Street, the
hereinbelow described real property be condemned.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That work is to begin immediately,
and it is necessary for the City of Santa Ana to have possession
of the hereinbelow described property as soon as possible.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That such acquisition is done in
a manner consistent with the greatest' public good and the least
private injury.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the attached map be entered
as Exhibit "A" and be used as an illustration of the herei~below
described property:
That portion of Lot A of Menges and Crooks Subdivision
of G. B. Lyon's Subdivision, in the City of Santa Ana,
as shown on a map recorded in Book 1, Page 98 of Mis-
cellaneous Maps, records of Orange County described as
follows:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of said Lot A; thence
South 78 feet; thence West 130 feet; thence North 78
feet; thence East 130 feet to the point of beginning.
Excepting therefrom the Easterly 10 feet as conveyed
to the City of Santa Ana by deed recorded March 29,
1904, in Book 103, Page 243 of Deeds.
Also excepting therefrom the Northerly 17 feet as conveyed
to the City of Santa Ana by deed recorded September 1, 1955,
in Book 3196, Page 431 of Official Records.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That this Resolution amends Resolu-
tion No. 72-53 passed by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana on May 1, 1972.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Attorney is hereby
ordered to bring an action in the name of the City of Santa Ana
to condemn said property necessary to be taken and to do all
things necessary to prosecute said action to final determination.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Attorney is ordered
to obtain immediate possession of that portion of the above
described property together with the right to enter upon the
remaining property where necessary for construction and sever-
ing purposes.
