Home My WebLink About74-078RESOLUTION NO. 74-78 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING PARTICIPATION OF THE SANTA ANA POLICE DEPARTMENT IN THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL'S ABANDONED VEHICLE ABATEMENT PROGRAM FOR THE PERIOD JULY l, 1974 THROUGH JUNE 30, 1975 WHEREAS, the Santa Ana Police Department has, with the approval of the City Council, been participating in the Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program of the California High- way Patrol (CHP) under a contract with the CHP; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to execute a renewal of said contract for the period from July 1, 1974 through June 30, 1975 in order to continue Santa Ana's eligibility to receive assistance under the Program through the Abandoned Vehicle Trust Fund; and WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has reviewed the success of the City's involvement in the Program to date and recom- mends continued participation with the CHP according to the terms of the renewal contract submitted to the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana that the City Council approves fur- ther participation of the City in the Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program for the period from July 1, 1974 through June 30, 1975 and hereby authorizes the Chief of Police to enter into a contract with the CHP setting forth terms and conditions of the City's participation in said Program ,nd further authorizes him to execute said contract on be- half of the City.
